What a crazy-interesting year it has been...

It's already the last day of the year and I have piles and piles of outstanding tasks to complete. Can't I just clean up my in-tray (shred all the documents) and start fresh come the new year?

I wish I could!

2008 has been a very challenging yet interesting year for me.

This year, I...

... have upgraded myself, career wise, and have learned the ropes on how to become a successful corporate player.

... took the plunge and became "Mrs. Judge".

... have managed to rekindled my relationship with Dad only to realise that it was never meant to be.

... learned the true value of friendship.

... learned not to depend on others to get things done.

... was forced to grow up...

Next year, I...

... hope to progress well in my career - to be able to do the things I love to do.

... hope to be able to find a suitable house to call home.

... hope to be a better person - better daughter, better wife, better sister, better friend.

Thank you to all of you that have been involved, either directly or indirectly, in making my 2008 a memorable one. Let's hope 2009 will hold many more great adventure for us all!

Happy New Year, everyone!

Cheers!

binx: hope to blog more in 2009!

People just love to speculate...

Scene 1

As I was driving back home from work, I received a call from my cousin...

Cousin: You know what?
Me: What?
Cousin: I had a dream last nite...
Me: What was the dream about?
Cousin: I dreamt that you were pregnant!
Me: What?!!! How come I was in your dream?
Cousin: I don't know... I was actually thinking of myself getting pregnant before I went to sleep and tup tup muka you yang turned up in my dream... Enter frame betul!
Me: Hah!
Cousin: That's why I called.. So ARE YOU PREGNANT?
Me: I don't think so...
Cousin: Nevermind.. Let's just wait till the end of the month.. I really have a feeling that my dream will come true real soon....
Me: Riteeeee......

Scene 2

I was walking towards the photocopier machine and a colleague stopped me on the way and felt my tummy...

Colleague: Binx, are you pregnant?
Me: Huh? Where got!
Colleague: This looks like a bump....
Me: No larr.. that's just my perut buncit larr..
Colleague: Are you sure...?
Me: VERY sure...

Scene 3

I just love to eat assam and now I have bottles of assam on my workstation all the time. However, little did I know that my bottle of assam had raised some speculation about me...

Tea Lady: Awak ada asam atas meja ye?
Me: Ha ah laa kak.. Memang suka..
Tea Lady: Haa awak tau tak, the Legal Manager tuh pagi-pagi duk hendap meja awak..
Tea Lady: Dia siap panggil akak tadi cakap.. "Haa kak.. dah start makan assam dah budak nieh.. mesti dah berisi..."
Me: Ya Allah... like that osso can ah?

Scene 4

I was explaining to my boss about the current task at hand when I noticed that she was not actually listening to me and instead was actually looking at me with a funny expression on her face...

Me: What are you looking at?
Boss: Binx, are you alright?
Me: Yes, I'm fine thank you. Why did you asked?
Boss: Are you sure you are alright?
Me: Yes.. I feel fine... *confuse*
Boss: Are you pregnant?
Me: No! Why did you ask?
Boss: No... You look pregnant...! And I think you ARE pregnant!
Me: I don't think so..
Boss: Are you late?
Me: Well... yeah... but I don't think I'm pregnant...
Boss: You better check... *grinning happily*
Me: eerrm... okay....

So I was 'late' for almost 10 days.

Everyone thought that I WAS pregnant.

However, no.... I AM not pregnant.

I was LATE!

Hari Raya for Bibik (Part VII)

Salam Aidil Adha buat pembaca sekalian...

Senyum Bibik sampai ketelinga.... :)

Waduh waduh... Enak sekali kuah kacangnya. Sayur lodeh Bibik jugak menjadi walaupun inilah kali pertama Bibik memasak nya.

Memang lazat i tell youuuu... ooppsss.. Bibik terberbahasa mat salleh pula... :D

Travel log: Kemamang

I was in Kemaman from Monday til yesterday (Wednesday), attending the E.C.er seminar organised by one public sector organisation.

Personally, I was really disappointed with the organizer/seminar as they were not attentive enough to invite relevant speakers for each industry specific session that they had determined. I mean, how can they invite the head of business development of the national airline carrier cargo company to talk about the maritime industry? Seriously??? Even the speaker himself was shocked when he received the invitation, but he came anyway. And the topics discussed was mostly unresearched topics that should have not been discussed as it is not possible to be implemented in the east coast region. Macam mana laa orang gomen organise seminar nieh. It was a waste of my precious 3 days! Dah laa PM yang opened the ceremony pun gave a long-winded speech that nearly put everyone to sleep... I was surprised that he was not reading any script during his speech.. Padan laa panjang berjela...!

Well, the trip was not a waste entirely laa.

The trip itself was OK. I got to stay at the Awana Kijal Hotel (my 2nd time there) and got to enjoy a brief one-hour javanese massage after the long day at the seminar.

Furthermore, I got to finally taste the famous Tong Juan stuffed crabs. OoOOOoooo... it was really really good. I even tapau'ed it back for Mr Judge and siblings back home.

Then, when we went to purchase the keropok lekor at one of the local shops, we were served piping hot cengkodok-like keropok lekor (basically, it is the lekor bater without the excessive flour and before it is formed into the long snake-like shape). Perghh... memang lazat sehingga menjilat jari... Dah laa free! And the makcik even asked us to "take and go" (prounce it in a terengganu dialect).. Basically she had asked us to "take away" laaa. hahahaha.....

I did not realise that the journey to Kemaman only takes 3 hours (well if you were to drive at the speed of 180 km/hr on the highway la). If that is the case, lepas nieh selalu sokmo laaa I pegi Kemaman... Syok jugak...

Confession of a Jet Setter

Tajuk macam bagussss aje kan....

I just got back from a day trip to Langkawi. My second day trip there for the month. It might not be my last for the year too...

I don't really mind going to the yard there though. Out of the three yards that we have, I love going to the Langkawi yard the most. Mana tak nya.... Breathtaking view, beautiful and expesive yachts everywhere Plus, I get to borong lots and lots of chocolates!

However, what I actually want to blog about it the terrible service that I have experienced with our national airline yesterday.

On my flight to Langkawi

All the passengers had boarded the plane and all set for departure. Suddenly, the co-pilot made a weird announcement:

"Good morning Ladies and Gentlemen, errr.... welcome on board MH1430. I am (I can't remember his name). There is errrr... a slight delay to our journey to Langkawi as the flight engineer is errr.... currently checking erre... 'something' in the air craft. eerrr... It might take us err... 20 to 30 minutes to rectify the problem......bla bla bla..."

The mere mentioned of the word "something" got everyone suspicious, especially after having heard of the terrorist attack news in Mumbai. Dah la bagi announcement pun takde confidence langsung... I know it was not a scripted announcement, but I think it would have been better if the announcement was made by the head steward.

2 minutes later, the head steward made another annoucement:

"Ladies and Gentlemen, we regret to inform you that we need to empty the aircraft in order for the flight engineer to change the battery of the aircraft. The change will take around 20 to 30 minutes and we shall continue our journey to Langkawi once the problem is rectified....."

WTF!

Change the battery? Aren't they suppose to check every component of the aircraft BEFORE allowing the passangers to go on board?!

The change too around 20 minutes but it took them at least another 20 minutes to take off from KLIA. Consequently, we landed in Langkawi airport almost an hour behind schedule!

My flight back to KL later that evening was also delayed. However, it was due to the terrible weather.

I know that the 'red low cost carrier' is championing the 'on-time guarantee' cause. And so far I have yet to experience any delays after they have launched the campaign.

How I wish that the national airline can do the same. They should not be complacent about their service because they know that most of their corporate clients will definitely prefer to fly with them rather than the 'red low cost carrier'. However, I know for sure that there were a lot of disgruntled passangers yesterday that was comparing the level of services between the two airlines and were highlighting their intention to switch airline should the level of service by the national carrier does not improve.

Hey... my company did not spend RM799 for my ticket to get a lousy service! I for one would rather fly with the 'red low cost carrier' if it means no waiting and on-time arrival guaranteed.

Ahhhhchoooo....!

I have been sneezing non-stop ever since I stepped in the car this morning!

Arrghhh..... I hate being sick... And I've been sick for over 4 times this year, which is more than the usual 1 time a year.

I wished I got myself an MC today. Then I would not have to sit in the 2 management committee meetings scheduled today....

Gosh... I really hope that the sneezing fit would not start later. How laa to control your sneezing? Habis laa nanti all the members of the senior management demam pulak....

An update... finally!

Things have been crazy lately.

Work has been demanding. We (my colleague and I) have been asked to do all sort of tasks, from a simple task of organising a management meeting at a hotel, to drafting a letter to the Country's #2 on a Saturday until late night and hand-delivered it to the BIG boss's house that very night and collected it the very next morning (on a SUNDAY!) to make necessary amendments before sending him a fresh copy to be delivered, travelling to all the Group's yards, coming up with all the strategic reports with ridiculous datelines (without knowing the first thing about what was to be expected out of the reports).

We are the Jack of all trades and a master of none. We seemed to be doing everything that our dear boss throws on our plate and more! Never did we complaint on the strain that it had taken on our lives.

Our stress level had shot up to the level where we are thinking of jumping ship (again!). I kept going home and requesting for Mr Judge to buy me a push-cart where I can start selling 'goreng pisang' in front of our apartment... It is better to sell 'goreng pisang' than to be subjected to all the nonesense that people throw at us at the office. At least, I'll get paid accordingly while not having to worry when my ass is going to get kicked.

I get tired even thinking about it. *sigh*

On the family front, we'll be staying at the in-law's for the next month or so coz FIL and MIL are off for their Haj trip this coming Thursday. We are instructed to hold the fort and look after the Mr Judge's siblings while FIL and MIL are away. There goes our privacy of having our own cozy little nest with warm and comfy bed. However, I guess that is the sacrifice that you have to make once you are married kan... Oh well, let's just hope that the arrangement is not permanent (I bet FIL would love to make it permanent).

"Here comes the wicked step mother... heheheh"

Wish me luck on the new temporary venture!

binx: i'm off to Langkawi! *sigh*

Lawak orang stress

A new fresh-graduate exec just joined the department. He was assigned to do some reading on the project that I was in charge of.

Fresh Grad (FG): What are the things that I am suppose to know about this project?
Me: LOTS of things. Why don't you read up this document. (handed him the document)
FG: Thanks! (walking towards his cubicle)
Me: Eh... buat copy laaa.. I want the document back.
FG: (giving me an unsatisfied look).. Eii.. bully!
Me: (confused) Huh? Mana ada bully.. Buat copy laa for your file.
FG: OK la... Nak air apa? (walking towards the pantry)
Me: Huh?
FG: Tadi suruh buat kopi....
Me: MUAHAHAHHA... ROTLOL! Orang suruh photocopy the document laa bukan buat air kopi!
FG: OOOooooo.... (muka malu tak tau nak sorok kat mana). Lain kali cakap terang-terang.
Me: MUAHAHAHAHa......

Moral of the story: Always bully the new recruits. Coz even though you don't want to, they are already expecting to be bullied.

**********

Four managers where sitting in the Director's room to go over the new "campaign" launched by the Company. During the serious discussion, suddenly....

Manager 1: Eh.. cicak! (pointing towards the Director's wall)
Director: Eiii... mana?! (Jumping off her chair and edging towards the door)
Manager 2: Come I whack it with this paper...
Director: Don't! I don't want it to run. Someone have to catch it!
Manager 3: Let me do it! I'm not afraid of cicaks...
Manager 4: Becareful. Nanti dia masuk your sleeves.
Manager 3: No lar... pass me a paper please..

When she pressed the paper against the wall and collected the lizzard, part of it's tail remained stuck on the wall...

Director: Eiii... dah kering laaa...
Manager 1: Laa ye ke... meaning dah lama laa dia kat situ...
Manager 2: I seriously thought that it was a wall deco coz I've noticed that it was already there for quite some time...

Moral of the story: Bilik boss memang sentiasa kotor... If you want a good increment, just pretend that you didn't see any creepy things crawling in her room.

Hari Raya for Bibik Part VI

Part I | Part II | Part III | Part IV | Part V

Walaupun gawat sentiasa, tetapi Bibik rasakan ianya sungguh bermakna sekali.

Daaa.....

Baby talk...

I always hear women exchanging stories about their kids. However, I recently had the chance to be included in a conversation between 3 men that were exchanging facts about their kids.

Guy 2: Anak aku pun sama. Mahal tuh susu dia..
.
Guy 3: Anak aku jugak best. Mula2 kita orang bagi susu mahal, then tukar susu murah sikit, then susu murah lagi, and now minum je susu yang murah. Takde hal langsung.

Bini aku siap hunt for warehouse sale for susu. If skali pegi, borong berdozen tin susu. Maklum laa anak 3 orang.

Guy 2: Itu laa pasal. Kalau murah tuh murah sangat. Tapi wife aku notice that susu dekat kedai2 ubat Cina lagi murah dari dekat Gi@ant or T3sc0 tau.

Guy 3: Haaa.. dengar tuh Binx. Take note.. Nanti dah ada anak senang.

And they went on and on and on discussing the issue of diapers, baby formulas and toys for almost an hour. Mind you, the conversation took place at my cubicle where 2 of them were actually standing by the partition wall. Giler asyik bercakap pasal anak.

Seriously, I've never heard guys talk about kids and etc. for that long before. Certainly not with all the details bout the price of milk and diapers...

Gosh....

binx: do not speculate... :p

Rest In Peace....

I have received an sms frm Mom yesterday afternoon that read,

"Innalilahwainailahirajiun. Hisham, anak Ayah Mat, meninggal dunia di Libya. Accident"

I was stunt and felt a sudden rush of emotion running through my veins.

I personally don't know Hisham that well as we are distant cousins and because he had always been away studying. However, his parents are really close to my mother (even though the blood ties comes from my dad's side of the family). They were there when mom was going through some rough times with the divorce and all. They were there when we needed help any time of the day.

And to prove that it is indeed a small world after all, hisham married my senior from school. I was really shocked when I saw my senior sitting in my living room next to Abang Hisham when he came over to introduce his new bride to the family. Memang terkejut beruk.

My thought goes out to his wife, who just gave birth to their 2nd child last June. She was back in Malaysia when the accident happened (Abang Hisham worked as a PTD officer based in Libya). I can only imagine her sorrow of losing a husband at this stage of her life. Besar sungguh dugaan dia kali ini.

Rest in peace, Abang Hisham. Semoga Allah mencucuri Rahmat keatas roh-Nya.

Al-Fatihah.

I HATE Mondays...

I really dreaded myself to get to work this morning. I even contemplated taking an MC for the day, but had decided against it as I still have things pending on my table at the office.

So, dengan berat hati nya I drove to work and vowed to lay low the whole day.

Unfortunately, my plan was hijacked when an email came in at 10:17 a.m... It was from my boss. She had instructed (not asked) for all her 3 managers to be included in the guest list for the Buka Puasa Event with our VVIP client this evening.

What the f&%# laaa kan......

They had planned out the event since last week and had sent the invitation out last friday (note: our names were not on the guest list then). It was very convinient of her to instruct us to attend the event only this morning!

I seriously won't mind attending the event should I have received the instruction in advance. At least then I could have planned out how Mr Judge's going to buka puasa today. Now, the poor guy is still asleep, after finishing his last shift for the week at 7:00 a.m. this morning and might be thinking that his wife will be coming back later to plan out what to have for buka puasa.

And the worst part of it all is that I have to stay back for an extra 2 1/2 hours today until it's time to go to the event venue when all I can think of now is the warm comfy bed at home!!!

I HATE Mondays.....

Changes....

It's already Ramadhan.... Gosh... How time flies...

First of all, Happy Ramadhan to all!

This Ramadhan is a new one for me as I have to actually wake-up at 4.30 a.m. to prepare sahur for Mr Judge. You see, I am not the type that will have sahur in the early morning. I prefer to have my sahur late at night before I go to sleep. However, takkan nak biar kan Mr Judge masak sendiri kan... Tak sampai hati la pulak. So, I forced myself to get-up every day. After 4 days, it had become a routine for me to get-up even before the alarm rings. hehehe...

I cooked our first buka puasa last night. Nothing fancy, just seafood tom yam & fried beef with onions and chilies. OK laa, not too bad. I think my cooking skill is improving since I have been cooking dinner for almost everyday since we got married. Saje aje.. Nak test power.. hehehe... Plus, I kinda like my small cozy kitchen.. That's why rajin aje nak masak everyday.

We had our first visitors to our small nest last week. Mr Judge's family came over on Friday for dinner. Then my family came over for lunch on Sunday. Unfortunately, we can't invite both families at the same time because we only have 8 plates at that time... hehehe... So had to split the guest list laa kan..

I have yet to get my fix of popiah goreng and karipap this ramadhan. Maybe I'll drop by the bazaar ramadhan later today to tapau to Mom's. Will be breaking fast at Mom's place today and maybe tomorrow and every day that Mr Judge works the night shift. Tak syok laa berbuka alone.

dah lapar dah nieh.....

How was your fasting experience thus far?

A year older.... A year wiser?

So I've added another year to my age. I am a year short of entering into another age group. That means I have another year to brag about being in the 20s group. hehehe....

The birthday came and gone... Nothing much to say about it except Mr Judge had treated me to my first Platinum class movie experience. It was really-really cool to be able to sit in the ever-so-empuk recliner in a private movie theater being attended by the ever-so-attentive waiter watching the ever-so-cute and sweet Wall-E... I like...

Didn't get to celebrate the day with the family & friends yet. Maybe will do a belated dinner with them soon.

The beginning of a new journey

Life has been pretty hectic since the wedding.

There are relatives to visit, house to clean up, things to shift into the new house, furnitures to buy and etc... On top of that, there are two weeks worth of pending work at the office.

phewh.....

However, life seems more interesting and meaningful now.

I still have yet to receive the pictures of the wedding from my wedding photographer and from other cameras that were snapping away throughout the two-day event (no we didn't manage to snap any pictures with our own cameras). However, Mr Judge's friend had kindly uploaded a photostory that he had prepared of our 'nikah' ceremony.

Will write more once we have install the internet connection at our new apartment ya.

binx: thank you for all the wishes *hugs*

10 days....

Things that I have gone through for the past few days....

1.
We has rushed all the way across town just to find out that we had to wait for almost an hour for the owner of the bridal boutique to arrive at her shop. When the owner came, we found out that the wife was not around and we can't have our 'fitting' session on that day! What was the point of making an appointment when you can't keep your promise?

2.
We were rushing for a wedding reception in Serdang when Mr Judge suddenly hit on the emergency breaks because the idiot driver in front of our car suddenly decided to stop without any warning. That had caused me to jolt forward and and hit the glove compartment in front of me. I now have a purple bruise on my upper right arm.

3.
My cousin, who had earlier promised to prepare all the decoration for my wedding favours and hantaran, had suddenly contracted one of her mood swings and had caused me unnecessary stress. She had screwed up all the wedding favour boxes and now I am left with 10 days to repair the damages. On top of that, since her work was not up to my standard, I had to engage the service of my mother's friend to decorate all my hantaran. I did not want to take the risk of the hantaran to turn into another disaster. Luckily mom's friend was kind enough to accept my request at the very last minute.

4.
On our way back from our 'fitting' session for the wedding costume for Mr Judge's reception yesterday, we had encountered another test from Him. We got into a car accident as we were about to leave Shah Alam. Again, another idiot driver decided to stop in the middle of a roundabout exit and it was just too late for Mr Judge to hit the breaks and BANG....! Don't worry, both of us are still in one piece. The only things that were damaged: my car's bumper. our patience and Mr Judge's wallet. Kesian dia.

I don't know what other 'test' or curve ball that He will throw at us next. However, I am glad that despite all the challenges thus far, both of us still managed to suck it up and stay strong. Not even once did we blame each other on the incidents that had happened. I belive that He was just testing our patience and also the strength of our bond.

Most kakak-kakak at the office kept telling me to becareful during these few days, before the wedding, as they said that this is the time when the bride will go through the "darah manis" period. I don't really know what that means but somehow I have a feeling that it means that this is the period where things can go wrong and it is best for you to keep yourself away from trouble. Betul ke my theory nieh?

Everything has been moving at an accelerated speed. Suddenly I don't think I am prepared anymore... There are a million things left unplanned. I am sooooooo afraid that things won't be settled in time.

Maybe that explains the gastrict attack that I have been having for the past few days.... Maybe....

Character Judgement

Uncle Singh said:

You are a very determined person. At times you might be a bit aggressive in order to ensure that you will get your way. But don't get me wrong... You are not pushy, just determined. This attribute plus your willingness to initiate and explore new things will ensure that you'll become a good leader in the future.

Future FIL said:

You have a strong character and a strong mind.

A colleague said:

I believe that you will be able to get what you want because you will make sure that you get it.

Mr Judge said:

You nieh degil and you have your own mind. But that's one of the things that I like about you.

hmmm....

Conclusion: I'm a hard-headed, pushy person

Some people can be so insensitive!

The invitations are out!

I have finally managed to distribute the invitation to my colleagues yesterday. And after personally delivering the cards personally to each and every person on the 17th floor, I was actually taken aback by how insensitive people could be...

Situation 1:

Mr. S: The ladies in my department have been asking me questions about your wedding card...
Me: What kind of questions?
Mr. S: Well, they asked... "Kenapa nama mak dia sorang je dalam kad nieh? Bapak dia dah takde ke?"
Me: So what did you tell them?
Mr. S: I told them.. "Bapak dia ada lagi....". I didn't want to elaborate much
Me: oook... and?
Mr. S: And they asked again... "If bapak dia ada kenapa takde nama dalam kad nieh?"
Me: They really have to ask THAT?

Can't they figure it out already???

Situation 2:

Mr C: Thank you for the invite...
Me: No problem..
Mr C: Eh, bukan father you ada "Datuk" ke?
Me: Errrmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... yes, I think so...
Mr C: Then why in your name tak letak his title? Takkan so humble kut?
Me: Well.... (very uncomfortable)... My parents are divorced... (don't wanna explain more)
Mr C: So?
Me: He was title'less when he left us.. So I don't see the point of putting in the title!
Mr C: But still takkan laa tuh pun tanak letak kut...
Me: It's going to be a reception held by my mother... so I seriously don't see the importance on the title being in the invitation card!

Urrrggghhh.....!!!

Today I have to endure another round of uncomfortable'ness when I have to distribute the invites to my old colleagues on the 5th floor and also see the Beast...

UPDATE:

Me: Hi Beast...
Beast: Hey.. what are you doing here?
Me: Just want to pass u an invite to my wedding
Beast: *wide eyes* U'RE TAKING THE PLUNGE?
Me: *smile* *smile*
Beast: I THOUGHT U'LL NEVER TAKE THE PLUNGE!! *dengan penuh hasat dengki*

Oh my... It was like she had taken a sharp knife and plunged it to my heart, there and then...

Trying times...

I understand that Allah is trying to test my patience and also the magnitude of my relationship with Mr Judge. And I am not complaining nor am I giving up.

I guess everything happens for a reason....

The huge argument that we had last Sunday, that almost bring the wedding plans to a halt, had made us stronger, as a couple. It had cleared most of the misunderstanding that had been the cause of friction between us for the past month. I really hope and wish that there will be no more rows for the next 6 weeks (gosh... time flies so fast!).

Last Tuesday's event had also test my ability to adapt with Mr Judge's family and relatives when I was given a task to assist with the kenduri arwah for his late grandfather that had passed away that morning. Memang mencabar and there were times when I almost lost my tamper in dealing with his relatives. However, I've managed to suck it up and had survived the day without making any new enemies... :)

I have been going to his house straight from work for the past 2 days. I consider it as my duty to help his mother with the preparation for the kenduri arwah for 3 days on a row. I don't mind doing it. In fact, it just seems natural to be there amongst his family members.

Gosh.... I really hope that things will speed up smoothly. I wish I could just fast forward everything to the day after our wedding coz by then we'll already be in Bali!!!

There goes my week!

Just when I thought that the week was going to be a smooth sailing one, things suddenly went wrong.

Maybe I have just jinxed it by saying out loud...

Maybe the force of nature was just out to get me...

There I was, walking out of the office at 6 p.m. on Monday evening (I don't usually get out of the office until after 7 p.m.), joking with Mr Judge on the phone when I saw the parking attendant came rushing towards me...

"Tadi ada pokok jatuh atas kereta you!"

WHAT???!!!

"Dua kereta sebelah kereta you hancur! Cermin semua pecah!"

SISH!!!

I quickly rushed towards my car and found that the roof was wrecked and there were scratches all over the body.

uwaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa...........!!

"Nasib baik tada pecah itu cermin... Awak nasib baik!"

Yeah. I was really thankful for that.

I was thankful that I had a sudden urge that morning to leave a space for another car in between mine and the white wira (I would usually just park next another car).

I was thankful that the tree fell on the white wira and the car that was parked in between my car and the white wira.

I was thankful that only half of my car's roof was hit by the tree.

However............

I am sad that I now have a car with dented roof and scratched body.

I am sad that I have to fork out a huge sum of money to get my car fixed, when I need to use the money for the wedding expenses.

I am sad that I now have to find a safer parking space to park my car and most of the car park around the office are all full!

*sigh*

Meet the Clan Weekend

I was looking through Mr Judge's phone last Friday and saw the reminder he set for the weekend,

"Meet Binxie's Clan"

I just can't help but to laugh.. Kesian dia.. Mesti dah tension sangat coz kena ajak balik Kelantan to meet my relatives.

So, he survived the trip without any scars and bruises... Just an extra few kilos of fat due to the delicious nasi minyak and nasi kerabu cooked by my uncle and aunty.

Things are getting better now.

Though I can't really tell whether the ceremony will go on without a glitch, I can only pray and hope that it will go on.

Bucket load of tears

I have been doing nothing but cry since last Sunday...

Sunday - due to some miscommunication with Mr Judge
Tuesday - due to this
Wednesday - due to some miscommunication with Mom relating to the above issue
Thursday - same as above

Why is it so hard to control the tears from falling????

Why is it so stressful to prepare for a wedding????

I seriously don't feel like getting married anymore... Especially if it means that I will have my nightmare-free sleep back.

There's a HUGE sack of potato on my head!

That's how i feel right now.

The doctor had diagnosed me having a viral infection in my "tekak" sampai bengkak that had caused me to cough non-stop for the past two weeks. However, after giving me the necessary meds to get well, and after taking it twice, I now have a HUGE headache!!! Oh yeah, and I vomitted in the car on the way to work this morning (nasib baik ada plastic extra dalam keta). Gosh! Why do you have to get new illness to get well? I just don't understand...

**********

I haven't been blogging much lately due to the hectic schedule *sigh*. However, I am still not out of loop with my favourite blogs, thanks to google read. So...........
  1. Congrats to the fairygodmother! You finally get what you've wished for. I am so happy when you've confirmed the runour. Can't wait to meet the new princess or prince in a few months time!
  2. Congrats to the newlyweds, hyelbaine & wife. It was a lovely ceremony and both of you looked radiant.

The week that was....

I have had a very hectic week last week.

Apart from all the busy schedule (meetings, networking sessions with the boss, and many more), I had also rushed back to Kelantan late Thursday evening due to the passing of a young cousin.

He died a very young age, 26. It saddens me to watch his parents, trying to put up a brave face after burying their son.

I was back in the office by Friday after lunch and was already busy rushing to finalise the urgent documents for an upcoming trip. *sigh*

Saturday saw me running all across town when Ms Boss sent me to attend a meeting with our project consultants in Ampang. A meeting on a Saturday!!! Luckily the meeting ended early and I had time to catch my breath before the test make-up session in the late afternoon. Penat wooo...

2 great things that I am thankful of on Sunday:
1. the fast and worry-free e-filling submission
2. the great 1 hour foot reflexology

Iklan sebentar....

If you are in need of a good massage, please take a drive to TTDI and drop by FOREVERCARE traditional massage center.

The center is partly own by my mom and had just recently opens its door to the public. Now mom finally gets her wish to own a spa... well close...

The place offers various traditional Chinese treatments such as foot reflexology, herbal foot bath, traditional Tui Na therapy, acupuncture, and many more. Furthermore, the treatments are actually being done by therapists that came straight from the mainland of China (so there might be some communication difficulty at first... but just get the person who mends the counter or even my mom - if she's there, to help you out).

So far I've tried out the traditional Tui Na theraphy to ease my back pain and also the foot reflexology treatment. Ok laa not that bad... I am planning to try the aromatherapy massage during my next visit to the center.

For those of you that lives around the area, do drop by and try out the 2-hour foot reflexology & herbal foot bath + Tui Na Therapy body massage only for a promotional price of RM88 only.

You can call 03 7728 1148 for early reservation or you can just walk in.

The center is located at:
123, Jalan Aminuddin Baki, Taman Tun Dr Ismail
-> next to the EcoGreen restaurant and the same row as Jasema stationary shop, behind Penang Mari restaurant.

On being a professional juggler

It has been quite a challenging 3 months of my life.

After only a month into the job, my boss had to abandon me to look after her sick mother. I had to struggle alone battling an unfinished war with a so-called 'Director' of a government agency that had proposed to buy a highly specialised equipment for a highly specialised industry before finding a willing company that would undertake the particular project (guess which co. HAD to accept to undertake the project?). *sigh*

Apart from that, I had to take on another project, on top of the current one, and had to liaise with a very slick-talker china-man businessman. He will provide me with different versions of the same story every time we meet. I know that I'm in for a very rough road ahead if the proposed project goes through in the near future.

Ms Boss had finally to come back to work after 2 months of absence. And after going through the project status, she decided to have a run-through with our CEO, to brief him on the updates. At first I thought it was only for the 1st project. However, she happily told me that since we have managed to secure a slot with the CEO, we might else well brief him on both projects plus another new project that she had been mulling over.

All this in the span of 4 days!

The briefing is Friday and I have 4 days to complete the presentation materials and slides. Not to mention to prepare financial forecast for both projects!!!

It's now 11.30 p.m. and guess what I am doing on my bed?

Now back to another looooong busy week.

Have a great Monday, guys....

The day I was stuck in the horrendous traffic

I usually love the journey back home from work. It must be weird to some, but I actually do love to drive back during the rush hour just to have some alone time in the car - listening to the radio and just wind down.

However, I was not happy to be stuck in the massive jam for more than one and a half hour this evening. It was really REALLY bad!!! It even took me more than 10 minutes to get out of the car park, thanks to all the drivers that thought they could by-pass the back-to-crawl along Jalan Raja Chulan... shish...!

The worst thing about being stuck in a massive traffic jam like today is that I was really hungry and was looking forward for a home-cooked dinner. I was already imagining hot steaming rice with deep fried chicken marinated to perfection. yummmmsss.... Unfortunately, I was stuck in the car eating telur pindang from yesterday's kenduri and a whole packet of dried peach.

The thing that triggered me about how bad today's traffic was when the infamous traffic announcer ended the day of traffic report with "Good luck getting back home tonight!". Then the most apt song came on air (takde laa the MOST apt.. but somehow the chorus kinda summed up what I was feeling at that time)

You got me begging you for mercy
Why won’t you release me.....

Time for an update!

Yups.. It has been awhile since the last update. How have you been?

Things have been pretty hectic at the work front, with the boss still out of the office for over a month already. She has been busy nursing her mom at the hospital since early of February. Hence, I have been frequenting the hospital every week to update her on our current project status. Imagine us having a corporate discussion at the hospital's cafeteria, where most of the people there are either sick or visiting sick people.

I have also been busy sorting out the wedding stuffs after working hours and during the weekends. We have been going out every weekend now trying to grab all the good deals on the hantaran stuffs while the Mega Sale is still on. Penat tak hengat punya duk pusing-pusing the malls, i.e. Mid Valley, Sogo, Pavillion... Most of the hantaran for Mr Judge dah settle, just tinggal his shoes and wallet je. Mine, however, will have to wait for my friend to come back from The States. This weekend, we are going ring hunting pulak... (yeah.. no F1 @ Sepang this year).

We have also been busy scouting out for a house. A visit to the MAPEX 2008 had sent us on a surprising trip to Rawang. YES, RAWANG! We actually LOVE the house. Love the huge windows... Love the huge tub... Love the outdoor shower... Love love love the layout of the entire house. And yes, we didn't wait too long to grab a unit of our own. However, after we left the place, reality suddenly sets in. The picture of the lovely house suddenly got erased from our minds as we shared our joy of buying the house with family and friends. Everyone gave us nothing but negative comments about buying a property in Rawang. pok pek pok pek... And being the typical indecisive guy that he is, Mr Judge had called to cancel the purchase today. Sedey.... Coz now we are back to square one!

There are still lots to do. My credit card has been heavily damaged after all the shopping madness. How am I going to sustain until July?

How did all of you, married people, handled the pre-wedding stress?

Can you spot me?

What is wrong with this picture?

Have you spotted it yet?

No?
How about now?

Caaaaaaaakkk.....!

That is my traumatised cat, Ash.

Ever since the move, she had been behaving quite oddly. She'll jump whenever she hears any weird sound. Her eyes and ears are constantly alert to pick-up any sudden movements and weird sounds.

We even bought her a new collar with a bell so that we can track her whereabouts easily. The cat can really make herself disappear. Refer to the picture above, see how well she blends into her surrounding. I was seriously surprised to find her, all curled up, in between all those books yesterday. She was actually hiding from all the commotion downstairs, where everyone was trying to clear up all the mess from the move.

However, soon after, she was actively checking out the result of the cleaning up. Minah kepoh jugak kucing nieh... Habis segala ceruk dia jenguk... Nak melawat kawasan laa konon... Bukan wakil rakyat aje tau yang sibuk melawat kawasan... ;)

Shopping Madness....

We finally went for our much anticipated Jakarta trip last friday. When I said 'we', I meant myself, mom, Mr Judge, his mom, his sis (who is getting married on the same day as Mr Judge's bertandang session), mom's friend and her husband. Yeah.. it's a rombongan cik kiah alright....

LCCT - Jakarta - Bandung - Jakarta - LCCT

That was our travel route.

Luckily we went there prepared with one HUGE bag for each family (plus anak2 bags inside the huge one. Hence, we didn't even stop to think whether all our purchases could fit into the luggages.

3 days was not enough for us to actually complete our mission (it was due to inefficient time management). I didn't get the chance to pamper myself at the Mathatilaar spa as planned. Keciwa giler ok.

Items to checked off my to do list:
- wedding invitation (checked)
- wedding favours (checked)
- baju for nikah- kain + tailoring (checked)
(can you believe that the tailoring cost is just RM80!!! damn cheap ok for a wedding costume)
- baju for family - mom + sis + aunties + uncles (checked)
(the material for baju melayu was only RM5/meter.. and it was of a high quality material...)
- extra materials for me for baju kurung/kebaya to visit relatives after the wedding

So now I'm back to my busy work schedule. Thank god I've managed to cover most of the wedding preparation at this early stage. I can't imagine what will happen if I haven't started planning since last December. I don't think I'd have time to think about the wedding anymore until the wedding month itself.

So ok people. Have a great week ahead! I know I will sure wish that I could.

Of wearing a different hat....

I have a confession to make....

I never really worked my ass off as hard as I've worked since last Monday till Wednesday.

For the past 5 years, I have been lucky where I didn't need to put in a 100% in order to accomplish a task. Even working under the Beast was not as challenging and demanding as my current task.

What happened was that my boss and I are currently working on a mega project for the company. This project is really huge that they had made us signed a confidentiality undertaking agreement that is governed by the OSA.

The highlight of the project was suppose to be this week, where the supplier of the equipment for the project is visiting us all the way from the European country. Due to the complexity of the project, we had been anticipating the suppliers' visit and had arranged for all our consultants to meet in order to address all our major concerns and any other grey areas that we had encountered after going through the legal agreement. Hence, we have been brainstorming and had organised our thoughts in order to ensure that the suppliers' visit will enable us to proceed to the next stage of the project.

However, I had received a very troubled sms at 3 a.m. on Tuesday morning from my boss (the project director) saying that her mom had been admitted to the ICU due to cardiac arrest. Tuesday was suppose to be the big meeting day. And she was suppose to chair the meeting!!

That particular sms was the starting point of a series of hectic couple of days for me. I went from being the project team member to the deputy project director in a split second. I had to actually handle my own task PLUS my boss's tasks concurrently. And I can tell you that it is definitely not fun when you are being pulled in every single direction all at the same time.

On the bright side, I had managed to brushed up on my communication skill, especially when they made me chaired the meeting, where I was the only female (not to mention the youngest) in a room of 14 gentlemen. I would have never dreamed to be able to chair a meeting (for a multi-million ringgit project) at this stage of my life. So, pardon me if I am actually feeling a wee bit proud of myself right now... hehehe...

The only time when I got a little bit worried was when I had to take the guests out for dinner and lunch the next day. Being the only representative from the company meant that I was going to have to pay for the meals. It's not that I can't swipe my card in order to pay for the meals. It's just that I don't think that my card can sustain the huge damage that it is going to cause to cover the dinner @ Wasabi, Mandarin Oriental for 8 pax and the lunch @ Tamarind Springs for 12 pax. Luckily, I had managed to convinced Uncle Singh to join us on behalf of my boss and he had paid for everything. If not, I would not be able to go on my Bandung/Jakarta shopping spree soon.

I really hope that my boss's mom will recover soon. I don't think I can handle the pressure, where everyone is actually asking me for the green light to proceed with to the next stage. I don't think that I am ready to make such HUGE decision on my own without her guidance.

Belated Gong Xi Fa Chai to all my Chinese friends out there!

To get any service, please press 1....

I was unable to make any banking transactions at the Tiger Bank since last November. Every time I go to the ATM to withdraw some cash, my transaction will be aborted half way with an error message that reads "This transaction is prohibited. Please call the customer service line 1-800-xxxx".

What the **** laa kan... It's not like I don't have any cash in the account. Luckily the account was not my main bank account.

When I had to transfer some cash to a friend last Thursday, I tried to log on to the bank's internet banking site. And guess what? The same error message had popped up!

This time it really gets to me because I had just deposited a large sum of money into the account earlier during the day. Why can't I log on to the website? *@&&%^$%!#@!$)*&%%%$@@!!!

I resorted to calling the customer service helpline in order to sort out the mess. However, my call was put on hold for 15 minutes...! Well, it could have been longer, but I just didn't have the patient to listen to their long winded tele-promo any longer. So I hung up.

The next day, I went back to the ATM machine to check the status of my card. It was still blocked! So I called the helpline again...

"Hi, welcome to Tiger Bank Customer Service Helpline" "Untuk Bahasa Melayu, sila tekan 1" "For English, please press 2"
Me: *2*

"Sorry, all our executives are busy, please hold" *que the CNY drum sound and the long tele-promo*
After 1 minute:
"Sorry, all our executives are still busy, they will attend to you shortly, please hold"
After 10 minutes:
"Sorry, all our executives are still busy, they will attend to you shortly, please hold"
After 20 minutes:
"Sorry, all our executives are still busy, they will attend to you shortly, please hold"

I hung up after 25 minutes....

Since I was so frustrated with the situation, I decided to try again.

"Hi, welcome to Tiger Bank Customer Service Helpline" "Untuk Bahasa Melayu, sila tekan 1" "For English, please press 2"
Me: *1*

After 1 second

"Hello Selamat Malam. Saya Aida sedia membantu"

*My boss told me that you will face a similar situation when calling most Government Agencies Helpline as well.

This is why I prefer to bank with the foreign banks!

Hot tea...

Besides being a coffee addict, I am also a tea lover (yeah... I know.. I contradict myself.. :) ).

I just love a hot cup of tea over a plate of crispy, yummy pisang goreng (banana fritters). Even a cup of teh o'panas with few pieces of creme crackers will turn me on. Very ummpphh.. i tell you...

Nowadays, I will always opt for hot cup of Tazo Passion Tea whenever we hang out at Starbucks after midnight. Coffee will only make me extra-hyper at nite, hence, it has been forbidden from my midnight menu.

Whenever I am sick, a hot cup of lemon tea will do the trick, especially when I have a sore throat. That was what I have been consuming over the past few days - hot lemon tea (I've been having the flu).

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A scene during lunch @ The Loaf, Pavillion:
4 diners were busy chatting during a business lunch when the waiter approached their table with their drinks...
Waiter: Excuse me, apple juice?
Guy 1: Here (pointing to his side of the table)
Waiter: Watermelon?
Lady 1: Here!
Waiter: Iced Lemon Tea, cold?
Guy 2: Here...
Waiter: Iced Lemon Tea, hot?
Me: Ermmm... you mean hot lemon tea?
Waiter: No... Iced Lemon Tea, HOT...
Me: If it's iced, how can it be hot then?
Waiter: Uh... yeah... hehehe.. Sorry...
Waiter: So, Iced Lemon Tea, hot? you?
Me: *hits forehead* Yes... yes... ICED Lemon Tea, HOT here....
*Dr M needs to sent the workers for training lar.... hehehe...
So whatelse is new?
1. I've finally bought myself a new PDA phone (after talking bout it for YEARS now) end of last year. Got my hands on the HTC Touch and I am loving it!!! I know how everyone is eying for the iPhone, but I really don't give a hoot bout it. And the purchase was just in time as now I am fully utilising it to manage my busy schedule.
2. One of my best friend had left for the States last week. It was really sad when we first heard the news that her husband had finally got his overseas assignment that he had always dreamed of coz that means that she'll be away for the next 3 to 5 years or so. Even though it's sad to see her go, I know that the distance won't matter. Plus, I made her promise to come back in time for the wedding, or else..... hehehe... (I miss ya, babe!)
3. We are moving house again! Yeah, AGAIN! This time, we have bought a house just 2 rows behind this house that we are currently renting. Finally we can take out the stuffs that we have stored for the past years out of the box. However, I foresee a lot of major remodeling to be done to the house before we can finally call it home.
4. I am currently into the digital scrapbooking craze. I stumbled upon it while I was figuring out the design for the Starbucks tumbler cover for Nai's farewell gift. And now I am hooked! You can get free scrapbook kits at ShabbyPrincess.com
(this may seem corny to you... but she loved it!)
5. Heath Ledger is dead!
So, what's new with you?
Mari bermain teka-teki
J and H is getting hitched.
J's parents told J to get a house and start fresh with H. H's parents, on the other hand, wants J and H to stay with them, as it is considered as a 'family tradition'.
J wants to find a place close to J's parents' house, D. However, H wants to find a place close to H's parents' house, L.
They both work at the opposite end of the city. Currently, J and H both travels 15km to get to their workplace. If J were to move and stay at L, J will have to face the monstrous morning traffic to get to work. And if H were to move and stay at D, H will have to go through 3 tolls to get to work.
Help them solve this puzzle please......
