The Journey



The journey in life was never easy. It is full of many bumps and detours. My own journey into life was never a smooth one. I have been through the best and even the worst of times...


Today I had an opportunity to take a glimpse into my near future (insyaallah) and also took a trip back into the past. And it was indeed an eventful day to be doing so, since it is the last day of the year.


After all that my family has gone through for the past 8 years, we finally saw a ray of light peeking out from the thick gloomy cloud today. Though we have seen many of those moments before only to be welcomed with a downpour, the one we saw today seems 'right'. It feels 'right'. It just gives us such promising hope for a delightful future ahead.


What would the future be without the past? Today, after almost 2 years, we found ourselves staring back into our dark past. All the four of us were filled with mixed emotions and thoughts that had only one common theme - sadness. Images of the good old days ran through my mind as I stared right back into the monument of my past. Oh how I wished all of us could have done it differently back then. However, if it were different then I won't be the person that I am today, rite?


As I watch the fireworks display that marks the coming of a new year tonight, I can't seem to imagine how my life would be in 2006. No doubt major renovation to my routine will be required by the 2nd quarter, though I am not planning to revamp my entire life for it. There will be no new year resolution for 2006. I am going to try and make my way into it with small tiny baby steps. Insyaallah, I will reach my destination one day...

I've been cursed!

It has been a tradition for my department to organise a secret Christmas / gift-exchange party every December during Uncle Dan's long Christmas holiday. We have been doing it for the past few years without Uncle Dan's knowledge. This is the time when everyone will feel relax enough to wind down and have fun without worrying about the BIG boss.

This year I have been assigned a special task to pick out gifts for the lucky draw. Besides exchanging gifts between staff, we also have special prizes for the lucky people who manage to pick out the "lucky" piece of paper. Mr. Tilam said, "Binx should buy the presents because she has such good taste"... Aheemmmm.. Ala.. actually they did not want to take the responsibility aje.. So saje puji laa a bit suruh I semangat sikit nak beli..

Anyway, I went to get the gifts last weekend and ended up with 4 gifts...


1. a matching IKEA's bedside lamps

2. RM50 MPH's gift voucher

3. 2 x Aussino's bedsheets



and my personal gift for the gift-exchange session - an IKEA cool purple alarm clock..




Ok what... with the small budget that I have received... Plus, it was way better than last year's gifts!

You see, most of the people in my department have such lousy taste in the gift selection. I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but why spend RM20 on something that people don't appreciate. You might else well get something nice, regardless of the size and price. I would not mind getting something cheap but nice.

So guess what I got this year...

Call me ungrateful, but just can't seem to appreciate the gift. The guy whose gift I received from actually gave the money to Uncle Dan's secretary, who was the culprit that had picked out the gifts from a catalogue. I wished she had picked out something else.

The irony of the whole situation is that I have received a gift from the same lady last year! It was a blind with lots of plastic colorful fruit dangling around. I have seen one with barbie doll pictures on it too. My face fell the moment I unwrapped the gift. I just don't know how to appreciate the thing. I might have liked it, if I have received it 20 years ago.

Last year, my ever-so-irritating colleague suggested that I hang the blind at the entrance of my cubicle.. He actually tried to stick the funny looking blind between the two partitions, while the rest laughed their heads off...

This year, the same colleague suggested that I put the floormat at the entrance of my cubicle and that anyone who wants to come in has to wipe off their feet on it! The idiot actually cracked up laughing as soon as he saw my gift. He said, hopefully next year I'll get a wok and then my house will be complete!

I guess I have been cursed to receive bad gifts every year. Luckily there will be no such party for me anymore next year.

When I was a little girl...






Can you recall the nursery rhymes that you use to sing when you were small? From "twinkle-twinkle little star" to "humpty dumpty sat on the wall"... We used to have a PC game with all the nursery rhymes in it. Hence, hours will be spent in front of the PC, singing along to the various rhymes.

However, the focus today is not on the western nursery rhymes.

Besides those english nursery rhymes, we were also brought up exposed to the various Malay nursery rhymes and folk songs. I don't know what has got into me today, but I was recalling an old Kelantan folk song on my way to work today. I was playing it in my mind throughout the day because I can't recall how it ends. Hence, I have been asking various people, from online friends to cousins and even my aunt and my mom.

It's amazing how people can actually come up with those songs. Most of it is based on jokes and cynical advises. However, for people like me, who doesn't understand most of the words, it is just another childhood song that lingers at the back of my head every now and then.

Well, laugh all you want. I am not ashamed to admit that that used to be one of my favourite games. I bet if you are around the same age as I am, you will be singing along to it by now. Haaa... kantoi! It can be deduced that almost every Malay kid in Malaysia would have played or sing the song at least once in their lifetime.

Looking back, one would wonder what was the song all about. One could not make any sense out of the lyrics at all. And that is not the only song that has weird and funny lyrics or wordings in it. There's more!

Another song that I can recall contain some explicit lyrics. However, it is not actually a nursery rhyme though. It's a song I learnt during my time being a girl scout in school. The scouts are famous with its jamboree songs. Most of it are just some "happy" songs that do not actually make any sense. Here's one of it...

Weekend rambling...



1.

It has been a good break from work, though I didn't actually get much rest during the 3 days break. However, I did manage to finish one of the three storybooks that I've bought early of the month (yipee..!).


2.

Was stuck in a difficult situation last Saturday, when I went to Maju Junction to pick up my Mycard with Lil Sis. We were half way to the entrance when I realised that I left the parking ticket in the car. Hence, I ran back to the car only to find no trace of it anywhere. Peeking through between the handbreak, I found it stuck between the namecard holder that I thought I'll never see again (I thought I've lost it for good). So the smart me tried to pry it out only to push it deeper between the narrow space. Then it just fell underneath the seat.

Without thinking much further, my hand dived underneath the seat in search for the ticket and the cardholder. I stuck my hands in between the seat and the metal thingy, only to find my shoe that I had stashed underneath the seats. Realising that it was better for me to search for it from the backseat, I tried to pull my hand out from under the seat but it was STUCK! I tried to gently pry it out but to no avail. I was practically glued to the seat, with my feet dangling outside the door.

I tried signaling to Lil Sis who was waiting for me near the entrance, but she was busy with her phone. Shouting for help was out of question because I didn't want to attract any attention that would cause further embarrassment. If anyone would have caught a sight of me at that time, they would have rolled on the floor laughing out loud. Seriously, even I was laughing hard at that time.

How I got out from the sticky situation? Well, after 5 minute trying to pull my ranting-like right hand, I suddenly realised that it would be much easier if I slide the seat further backwards. Once I did that, it was much easier to wiggle the hand out... and I was free!

When I went back to the entrance with a laughing face, Lil Sis gave me a weird look.

LS: What were you doing back there?
Me: Trying to wiggle out my way from under the seat..
LS: I saw you wiggling your legs up in the air.. I thought you were doing some dance act..
Me: Idiot! I was calling you for help laar
LS: rotflol.... You should have seen yourself girl.. hahahaha
Me: Shuuush!


3.

Finally got my dream handphone! Got a good bargain for it. All thanks to Lil Sis's friend, Ahmad from Peace Corner, Pertama Complex.


4.

Spent the whole day shopping on Sunday. I didn't know that it could be very tiring looking for gifts for a friend's wedding and the department's Christmas party. Since I was put in charge of selecting the gifts for the lucky draw, I was out on a mission to get some value for money gifts for everyone. Finally there will be no more lousy gifts this year. I was actually having fun roaming through Ikano and The Curve, selecting things that I "like", with the hope that I will actually get at least one of the gifts.. hehehe..


5.

2 cousins got married over the weekend, a double wedding ceremony. While helping out with the preparation, an aunt turned and faced us, three sisters..

Aunt: So lepas nieh the 3 of you qada' and buat triple wedding laa pulak ek..
Me: Errmmm.. maybe not kut..
Aunt: Why not?
Me: It's gonna be bigger.. 4 in 1 wedding...
Aunt: Huh?
Me: You forgot to include Mama.. Mama skali laa
Aunt: *tergamam*

That will keep them busy for awhile... hehehe..

Boss hok book mejo tuh suruh secretary dio panggey sapo-sapo hok takdo buak gapo-gapo male nieh, suruh penuh ke mejo tuh. Jadi, kawe denge pakso relo nyo pegi la KLCC Convention Centre male tadi denge Abe Zorro, denge hajak nok make makene klate.

Sapa-sapa yah dekak Ballroom tuh, kejut beruk kawe kelih ado due oghe tuo duduk dekat luar dewe main alat musik gapo entoh sambil duk sughuh oghe sumo masuk dewe.

"Bakpo laa sumo duduk cace depe dewe nieh weee... Sleke laa masuk ambik tepak duduk. Lepah nieh kito sambung laa duduk cace pulok"


Selok kawe gelok bilo denga oghe tua tuh kecek gitu mo. Nasib baik laa kawe pehe gapo dio oghe tuh ghoyak. Abe Zorro duk cace tok pehe. Ciye dio.

Bilo doh jupo mejo Company kawe, kawe tera laa kelih menu make male atah mejo. Seghoo supo buke male untuk oghe Klate yah bilo kelih menu. Makene hok dia ogher serve sumo buke makene Klate. Kawe ingat ado nasi krabu ko, nasi dage ko, ike singge ko, kuih akok ko, lompat tike ko, dll. Takdok! Dio serve makene biaso yah.. Nasi minyok, aye kari, rojok buoh, rende tok, sutung goreng kunyit and bubur chacha. Meme bengong sungguh organizer male nieh. Ado ko buat lagu tuh?

Nasib baik bilo tengoh make nasik tuh, dia buak show woye kulit. Bilo bunyi yah suaro "Where's my Golok", sumo oghe pakat gelok blako. Tuh baru laa sero supo kat Klate. Selok ogher sumo pakat suko tengok show tuh. Mano tok nyo.. ado ko, sumo bendo laa dia ghoyak maghri dari Klate. Dia ghoyak persident Amarika dulu pun oghre Klate jugok - President Nixon.. Nixon = Nik Hasse dari Tumpat Klate. hahaha... Tapi Abe Zorro duduk diye yah sebeloh kawe. Dio ghoyak dekat kawe, dio keno ada translator soghe duduk sebeloh dio baru dia buleh pehe. Meme lost. "Ciye diyo.. mok takdo.. pok takdok.. taik tepek jubo.."... hahaha...

Habih licing makene, baghru la PM sapa.. Ciye dio.. Dari pagi pegi Perlis duk kelih mangso banjir pahtu pegi Penang, pahtu pegi Alor Setar, pahtu baru turung KLCC. Tapi kawe suko bena tengok muko PM bilo dio duk ghoyak pasa arwoh oghe ghumoh dio. Bulih kelih air muko dio, meme saye sokmo kat Allahyarham Endon. Sedih kawe dengar bilo dio duk alik sebut yah namo arwoh.

Kawe kelik lewak jugok male tadi. Tapi nate sungguh laaa organiser majelih tuh.. Meme tak organise langsung. Gege semace. Sumo mache tok pernoh organise majelih.

Pagi nieh pulok, kawe tak habih nyupoh.. Bakpo nyo? Lekak kat kpalo kawe nieh lagu dikir kemarin... Aduh laaa... Kawe harap tok melarat laa.. Kalu dok, kawe duk nyanyi laa lagu goni satu haghri nieh...

… the long-awaited exam result

… the year end financial statement

… the long-awaited beach getaway (yeah rite!)

… the reports that are due by the end of the month and early next year

… the unavoidable wedding this coming Monday (another Chinese wedding)

… the dreaded resignation letter


So many things to settle, so little time.

Confession of an ex-girlfriend

Before you start forming an opinion on my revelation, let me tell you my story.


Why I did it?

Just to keep myself up-to-date on his progress. We broke-up on not so very good term la. Hence, we kinda took our separate ways after that. Who asked him not to change his password kan...? hehehe.. No, I don't read his mail religiously. I only do so when I really have nothing better to do and in need for some light entertainment.. (trust me.. the emails were entertaining).


What did I find out?

That he used to keep all my emails until recently. That he used to have photos of naked girls mailed to him (dunno laa real girls onnot). That he found himself a new gf. That his gf emailed him almost everyday. That they went on their first date at IKEA. hahahaha.. A lot I tell you..! I guess I kinda hit a jackpot when the gf decided to write the entire story on how they met and all kan (don't ask me why she did it.. maybe she knows that I will read it kut.. hehehe).. It kinda supplied me with all the missing pieces in the storyline.

I also found out that they are getting married or are already married by now. (If you are reading this, congratulations - from the bottom of my heart!)


So what?

Nothing. It's just that some ex-gfs play some revenge game with their exs. Some call and threaten their exs. Some play pranks on their exs and their current gfs. Some even go around telling grandfather story to everyone... about how useless the ex was.

However, I don't do all that. I just read his emails. And whenever I find a need to share the information with my friends (my closest friends laa.. not the entire world), I'll just forward it to them.. hahahaha...


Does it make me a bad person?

Maybe. But I don't really care.




Ok.. End of secret.



Let me share with you some tips that I have learnt after going through a break-up.

  1. Change all your passwords after every break-ups. Actually, don't reveal any of your passwords to your partner in the very first place. Love doesn't mean that you have to share everything rite? Trust no one!
  2. Do not.. I repeat.. Do not break-up with any of his friends just because the two of you are no longer a couple.
  3. Don't go burning all the pictures or cards or everything else that he gave to you just because you hate the sight of it. It might be a good reminder of why you should not date people like him in the future. It also might be a good scrap paper for emergency situations like e.g. need to jot down important numbers; need some thick cards to "sendal" some uneven chairs, tables or cupboards; toys for your pets and many more.
  4. If you provide any supplementary credit cards to him/her.. cancel it a.s.a.p!
  5. Should you have any joint accounts, especially when you are the main contributor, make sure you close the account a.s.a.p. This happened to a friend of mine. All his money was withdrawn from "their" joint accounts after he broke-up with his gf. I never agree in starting one UNLESS you are already married laa. Same goes with the credit card...

That is all that I can think of as of now. Maybe you can share your views on this matter.

All work and no play...



"70% of female professionals in Malaysia are unmarried"

I heard about it on the radio one bright morning, on my way to work. When the newscaster announced it, I went "hah! rite!"...


Then I went on with my usual daily routine. Working from 8.30 am til late.


While driving back home, suddenly it hit me...


"Am I part of the statistics?"


I mean... I'm a female... I am working in the professional line... I am at the prime age of marriage... I am single... So, does that make me part of the statistics?


Thinking back, I guess I do fall under the category of unmarried female professional. And looking at the rate that I am going right now, it will take a miracle for me to even meet a decent guy, court and fall in love, get myself married anytime soon. UNLESS I quit my job.


Why is that so? Well, my job requires me to invest most of my time focusing on the matters at hand. It is very crucial that I get the job done on time as per the required standard or else... "off with her head!"... Being based at the highest end of the accounting hierarchy doesn't make it easier for me at all. The information that I have gathered will be used by the directors for decision making purposes. Hence, all the figures needs to be accurate and reflecting the true and fair view of the group.


The pressure being put on me is indeed too much for me to handle solely. However, I don't have any say in determining the work load that I have to carry. Hence, comes the sleepless nights and restless weekends, working.


Yes, I know that some of you might say that employees actually hold some power/say in a company, without which the company would not be able to function at all. I've told myself over and over again that the company can't even sue me if I were to leave work at 5 pm sharp and don't come to work on weekends. It was never stated in my contract that I have to work over time without any compensation. Nevertheless, me being me, could not just let go of the responsibility handed to me. It is just not right.


After one year being transferred to my current department, I have learnt one very valuable lesson. No matter how much you have invested your time into your work, no matter how perfect you have organised a project, no matter how well you have prepared the reports, your boss will never be satisfied. Instead, they will just demand for more to be done without even giving you any recognition or encouragement to do so. In the end, you will end up losing friends, family and even the chance of being with someone because of your "so-called" commitment with your work.


No.. I don't want to be a part of the statistics. I am planning to leave this "glamorous" profession as soon as the window of opportunity opens up (very soon I hope). I need to get my timing perfect in order for it to work to my benefit. I don't plan to slave myself any longer, doing something that I have fallen out of love with ages ago. Plus, I also don't plan to give my young heart a pre-mature attack due to all the constant screaming and terrible terror at work. All I want is to be free...!


Some of my friends are already thinking of names for their unborn baby, how much to spend for maternity expenses, which doctor is the best in town, a destination for their 2nd honeymoon trip, who's hometown to be spending hari raya haji at and other issues that married couples usually faced with. Somehow, I just can't help myself but to feel left out in most of the conversations amongst friends and colleagues (despite them being considerate enough to venture into other issues just to include me in). I mean, I can't be asking them to change the topic every time I am around rite. That should never be an issue in the 1st place. And I don't feel like finding a new set of unmarried friends just so that I won't feel any pressure of any relationship-like conversation being discussed.


*sigh*


Maybe all these work that are piling up on my plate are driving me insane.


What? Take a break? Holiday? Forget it.. My leave has been frozen until April next year. It is going to be a long FUN 4 months ahead... yeay!

I will love you til the day I die....

I remembered a story that my World Literature lecturer had told us during one of his lectures....


Note: this is a simplified version of the story.



Boy and girl met and became good friends. They spent most of their waking hours together doing almost everything. It was no surprise when they finally declared their feelings for each other.

However, boy had to go abroad to further his studies in medicine. Hence, they both vowed to wait for each other. They made a promise that they will be together until the day they die. Girl stayed on and finished her degree locally while waited for boy to come home. Boy was determined to prove to girl that he was worth the wait.

Soon after graduation, boy got an offer that he just couldn't resist, to practice medicine in the UK. Girl got tired of waiting and had to agree with her parents for an arranged marriage. Boy was devastated with the news and decided to take up the offer and stayed on for a few more years just to forget about girl.

Girl was happy with her marriage. Boy too finally met someone in the UK and settled down. Both couples were blessed with happy families.

At the age of 50, boy finally decided to come back to his homeland. He had nothing to hold on to anymore back in the UK. His wife had died of cancer and his children are all leading their own separate lives. He suddenly thought of girl and wanted to find out how she had faired after all these years. There was never a minute when he didn't think about her. She was forever in his heart.

Hence, as soon as he reached his homeland, he tried every possible way to trace girl down. And he finally found her, living with her husband in their old neighborhood. Girl was shocked to see boy standing at her doorstep one morning. The shocked feeling was soon being replaced with the feeling of joy to have found her best friend once again.

Girl introduced boy to her husband and they soon became fast friend. However, their friendship didn't go beyond anything else because of girl's loyalty towards her husband. Boy understands it and just kept his feelings to himself.

5 years later, girl's husband died. Boy was beside her constantly to lend a shoulder. They suddenly realised that the feelings that they had shared ages ago didn't just die when both of them tied the knots with their partners. It was actually buried deep inside them, and now it has been let loose.

Both boy and girl never again spend more than a few hours apart from each other. They managed to spend what was left of their old days together. And true to their promise, they were together until the day girl died. Even after that day, boy continued to visit her grave every single day, bringing a single white rose for her tombstone that reads "my best friend.. my love".

And as if they just can't bare to be separated for long, boy soon after grew weaker by the day and finally died and was buried next to the girl's grave. That was how the love story ended, with boy and girl lying next to each other.





*sigh*

Why you so like dat?



I have the tendency to notice people's odd behaviour, especially the things that they say. Maybe because I am very observant and love to just watch how people do/say things.

One of my bad habits is to imitate those odd things that I find funny. For example, I have a colleague that can't pronounce "R" correctly. He can't roll his tongue to prefect the "r" sound. He will usually pronounce "organisation" as "oghanisation". And I will always imitate him whenever he pronounced such words in that manner. This is just like the time when I was caught counting how many times my lecturer said the word "so-called".

Another person that I used to love to imitate was my A-levels Economics lecturer. We used to nick her the "French Lady". She, too, can't pronounce her "R" correctly. Her case was even worse because her pronunciation will sound like a foreign word that would always confuse us. Pronouncing words like "sovereignty" and "ceteris paribus" can be a tongue twister for her. However, those were the reasons that had kept me awake throughout the boring lecture.. Just anxiously waiting for her to encounter those twisted words and struggling to pronounce it was the highlight of my day...

I remembered sitting in the Commercial Law class in uni next to Jigga and cracking up every time our Law lecturer said certain words like "thats mean" (suppose to be "that means"). It will be our weekly routine to actually count how many times he actually mentioned the phrase. Sometimes when we are not sitting next to each other, even from across the classroom, Jigga would raise an eyebrow and I would start to crack up just by the mere mention of "thats mean"... Urrgghh.. Nak aje tell the lecturer that it's suppose to be "that means"!

My current target is one of my subordinate in my department. She just cracks me up every time she opens her mouth. She's a chinese educated girl with the typical chinese tongue. Dah laa pelat, cakap laju pulak tuh.. There was this one time when she wanted to inquire on a particular invoice from our legal advisor's firm, "Mssr. Azzat & Izzat" and she hurriedly pronounced it as "Acat & Icchat".. My other colleague had to pause and asked her to repeat it a few times before understanding her question. Memang gelak rolling-rolling laa that time...

And today, a blunder on the speaker of the seminar that I have attended part had kept me awake through a very boring and dry seminar. The speaker was actually a director of the group financial services department of a very reknowned big 4 audit firm. However, her english was very bad that it had caught my attention the minute she opened her mouth. There was this one time when Izzy looked puzzled when the speaker mentioned the word "borne".. He thought she said "porn"! Hahaha... "Porn" in an accounting standard? I don't think so! I laughed so hard that he had to asked whether I had consumed any alcohol beverages or drugs... hahahaha. Thanks to the speaker, I had survived a day cooped in a conference room of 50 accountants from the entire group. With her bloken enggeris and "whats not" (suppose to be "what nots"), I now understand why I had to correct last year's draft audited account many many times due to lots and lots of silly grammatical errors. And I thought the junior staff was incompetent!

"Raya kan sebulan..."



Some of you might not agree with that statement. However, with that statement in mind, my lil' sis and I got to squeeze in a small get-together-raya-do last weekend. Yes... yes.. Raya ended last Friday.. That was what we told our guests. But that didn't stop them from chanting "Selamat Hari Raya!" when they walked in through our front door yesterday.


Why so late? Well, I was busy with my exams during the "real" raya that I didn't really get to enjoy the food. Lil' Sis was away in Perth and was also struggling with her finals on the raya day itself. Hence, we thought we should celebrate our "temporary" independence period with some makan-makan session with our closest friends.


What was on the menu? Let's see... There was...


1) Laksa Johor
2) Nasi Dagang
3) My signature Chocolate Brownies
4) and great company...
(sorry no pictures of the food taken because the owner of the camera was too busy entertaining her guests)


Despite all the hard labour being put into the whole preparation, plus the horrible mood swings that almost caused the event to be cancelled, everything turned out great for the day. The food were delicious (I have testimonials from my guests, if you don't believe me), the house was presentable (someone said it was 'homey' that they didn't want to leave *winks*), and the guests were the people a host would want to invite for any makan-makan session (they can really eat.. hehehe).


And thanks to the wonders of paper cups and plates, "bibik" didn't have to spend most of her time standing near the kitchen sink. Some guests who knew about our "bibik" situation even wanted to share plates and cups! Sabar aje laaa...


Well, I had a great weekend with lots of food stuffed down my throat... Hope yours were equally great too, if not better.

This are my confessions...



I've been tagged AGAIN!

At first, I thought this meme is kinda stupid (no offense). However, after trying to dig into my archive, and find the 23rd post and 5th sentence, I realised that it somehow made sense.

This is what I have found:


Then from my back I could hear laughter (obviously it was my buddy laughing his hearts out)... Dang! And that had caused the entire crew to laugh... Why laa you have to laugh in front of them? Wait until we were seated outside.. lepas tuh nak gelak.. gelak laa... haiyoooo...



If I were to just analyse that particular sentence, I don't think it will reflect anything that much. However, basing on that particular paragraph, I realised that sometimes the things I do just cracks people up.

For example, in that particular post, the crew of the sandwich bar had burst out laughing when they heard me ordering a sandwich with everything but vegetables. Well, they didn't laugh at first, just gave me a very puzzled look (that particular waiter actually had to re-confirmed my order twice!). However, after my buddy burst out laughing, they just couldn't resist to join in the laughter.

I used to think that I lead a very dull life. Very predictable, mundane life. However, after blogging about it, I suddenly realised that it was never dull. It was actually full of colors. A friend had recently told me that "there was never a dull moment in your life eh". And I guess he was right. I've always had something to laugh about, even though I am laughing at myself. Well, they do say that laughter is the best medicine rite?

Hence, after one full year of blogging, I find it to be very therapeutic. To me, it is my source to release my feelings of anger, sadness, happiness and also 'bengong'ness. I don't know about the rest of you bloggers out there, but I do cry or even laugh when I blog. I'd be wiping away tears or giggling to myself when I am pouring out those words and thoughts. Most of what I have written comes straight from the heart. That is why some people say that I tend to be a wee bit emotional in my writing. That is just me being me.

However, there is a downside to that. The blog is published on the web, and there are no boundaries in this so-called 'virtual' world. Hence, I am taking a risk of exposing my life to the unknown. That was the risk that I have taken and I have no regrets about it. Though at times I do wish that some people would just respect my privacy by not discussing about what I have blogged about in public (at least not when I am around - what you say behind me is not my problem). It just feels like I've been stripped naked for everyone to scrutinise. Malu ooooo...

So, it has been one year now. Today, a year ago, I have taken a huge leap into the world of blogging. Since then, there was no turning back (just some modification to the url due to security reasons). I just hope that within the last year, I have not hurt anyone's feelings with my words and thoughts. All I wanted to do was to share a piece of me (my thoughts) with the rest of you.
