A craving gone bad...

Saw a recipe of marinated fried chicken in a magazine at my Aunt's house last night. Hence, I woke up this morning with a craving for marinated fried chicken laa kan - what else...

Took out the chicken from the freezer. Thawed it for an hour. Prepared all the ingredients to marinate it with.. garlic, onion, ginger, chili, lemon, black pepper, honey and some salt.

Then set it aside to marinate til 12 p.m.

Fried the chicken til golden brown... Prepared some sambal belacan for some added flavour.

With the hot steaming rice, I took my first bite at the fried chicken.. The meat just won't budge... I tried tugging harder..

Of helicopters and friendship...

7 Nuri helicopters just flew by my window. This has happened twice this morning! If I were to base it on yesterday's event, they will round the area few more times with the loud, disturbing noise (they are flying it quite low because I can even see some people hanging out inside the choppers..).

Hah! I was right! There they go again!

Is there some kind of air show around town that I don't know of?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have spent my weekend in bed, with a good book. As usual, whenever I read a good book, my tears fall so easily (yeah the sappy binx is at it again!).
The book deals with the story of 3 best friends that have been together for more than 10 years. 3 girls with different characters. One was a bossy lawyer, one was an angelic beauty and the other was a plain jane (so she thinks).
Everything went well with the 3 of them, with beauty's wedding coming up in 2 weeks time. However, things took a sudden 180 degrees turn when she got caught in a car accident. The damage was severe that it was a miracle that she survived for another 2 weeks, before passing away 2 days after her wedding.
Being best friends, the 2 friends grieved for their loss. Plain Jane found herself nursing the wound of beauty's windowed husband, who was almost her college boyfriend before beauty met him. Reeling with grief, she thought it would be natural for her to step in and nurse the guy's wound (with the guy making bold moves to attract her).
The test of friendship and loyalty was questioned in the book. The issue of how far you are willing to go out of your way for a friend and how far are you willing to put your dreams on hold were toyed around. Would you have dated your dead best friend's husband? Would you have moved into her house only few months after she died? Would you stop talking to the other best friend because she disapprove of your move? Would you continue to under estimate yourself just caused your source of motivation died? Would you move on with your life? Would you?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

So, it's Monday again... I have lots of things to do this week. But with the boss out of town for 3 days, one can never tell what one will do... he he he...

Happy Monday, everyone!

T.R.U.S.T

While climbing the railing of the ship, Jack Dawson hold out his hand and asked Rose Bukater, "Do you trust me?"

She took one long look into his transparent eyes with a doubt, at first. However, she reached out her hand to him, after deciding that he will not let her go. She did..! And she had an exciting experience while doing so...

Would you ever trust anyone with your life like that? Forget life... Would you ever trust anyone? Period!

Well, I guess there is a limit to trusting someone. You might not trust a stranger (Community Service Announcement: NO.. Do NOT trust strangers!). However, trusting your family members and close friends would be a norm, rite?

So, how far will your level of trust go? Would it be limited to just your stuffs (books, clothes, CDs)? Or would it be extended to confidential information, money and life? Would you jump off a cliff when your trusted friend said that it is safe for you to do so? Would you take the jump? What happens if you suddenly fall and injured yourself after taking the fall? Would you blame the friend or would you just brush it off as an accident?

For me, I only trust the people that I am close with. Family - only the basic family members and a group of selected distant relatives. Friends - those who have been with me through the high and lows of my life. And my level of trust for these selected people goes above and beyond everything else. It is very comforting to know that you can trust that person with your life... And if anything were to happen to me (touchwood!), I would just blame it on fate.. Because I always believe that things happens for a reason.

It would also be comforting to know that these people trust me too.

You may be deceived if you trust too much, but you will live in torment if you do not trust enough.

Less than 8 hours to go...

And I am freaking out!!!

Yesterday's paper was OK, though I think I was better prepared during the last sitting last November.

The up coming paper is my least favourite paper of all. I don't know why... I kept studying the subject thoroughly but still can't get it into my head. Why must the examiner complicates our (the students) lives further by twisting the question in every possible way? Is it hard enough to understand the basic thing in the first place!

I am shaking all over rite now. My heart can't stop doing the thumping dance since dinner time.

If I get through this successfully, I swear that I will never have to read up on any financial strategy materials any more!

For the time being, I think I'd better go and recite some long prayers before hitting the books for one final time...

binx: thanks for all the good luck wishes

Overdosed...

Too much of one thing is not good...

Too much coffee will make you high (well for me lar)

Too much love will suffocate you

Too much food will surely leave a mark

Too much sleep will cause headache

Too much thinking will lead to insanity

Too much anger will lead to war

Too much talking (about oneself) will cause isolation

Too much pretending will cause conflict

And too much time spent on the internet will not guarantee a PASS...

Hence, I'm pulling off the plug and hiding my laptop under the bed for the next 7 days. To my 'ahli mesyuarat tingkap', I'll catch up with you guys soon ya... Make sure you keep records of the minutes ok.

Btw, thanks for all the feedbacks on the last post ya. Will definitely do something about the color soon... Nanti I buat Rhumba party for all k (If I can get Starbucks to sponsor it lar... hehehe).

I wonder if Mom will accept the same reason...

It's not brown! It's dark purple...

That was my YM status since last night.

What's not brown?

What's dark purple?

Well... Someone told me that she likes the colour of this blog because her favourite colour is brown. That statement caught me by surprise because all these while I have always thought that this blog was dark purple. OK.. maybe not dark purple, purple laa.. It's maroonish, brownish, purple'ish laa... Well, it IS dark purple on my screen laa. And the screen of my old laptop.. and also my old PC in company X!

So today I have 3 people telling me that it IS brown.... I even got a confirmation from a so-called colour expert that it IS brown. Oh my... Brown is sooo not my colour... (ok I'm being wee bit childish here).

However, I just can't stand to think that all these while I have been misled...

Can you guys please tell me what colour you see on your screen right now (say dark purple and I'll treat you to a Rhumba *winks*). Would appreciate your feedback on this matter.

binx: maybe it's time for a make-over...

Looking back...

After trying very hard to study today, I finally called it quits and put on my jeans and headed out the door. Destination - the park!

It just felt good to be outside, surrounded by the nature. The birds were chirping, the monkeys were jumping around, the turtles and fishies were swimming and the people were laughing. The park was full, maybe because everyone just got tired of the daily rain and wanted to capitalised on the bright sunny day.

On my way back, I suddenly had the urge to drive by our old house. I know that the new owner had finally received the green light to start on the renovation after almost 2 years of waiting. However, I was not prepared to see the house that I have grew up in for the past 20 years all torn apart.

From the distance, I can see the candyfloss-colored wall of our old family room on the 2nd floor. I can still remember us; me, Lil Sis, her ex-bf, a cousin and maid; painting the wall, one weekend, when mom was away for an Umrah trip. We just thought the bright cheerful color would change the somber mood of the occupants of the house. We even did some make-over to Mom's room as a surprise.

And surprised her we did! Things went well after that until we found out that we had to sell the house.

Now, 2 years later, I find myself starring at what was left of my 20 years of memories.

Why did I go back to the house? I don't know. Maybe the ghost from the past just wanted me to take one last look at the monument that had been haunting my family for the past years.

Will there ever be a closure?

Confession of a gas woman...

I remembered watching one episode from the Sex and the City, where Carrie was afraid that she and Mr. Big won't be sharing the same bed again after she did the most natural thing one morning - she accidentally farted in bed! To her, it's ok for the men to fart.. but women never farts in front of the boyfriends. It's a big NO-NO.

Well.. If that's the case, then I will be doomed to not share my bed with any men.

Why, you might ask?

Since the early days of my university years, I have been having gas attacks. It suddenly attacked me one night, when I can't stop burping to a point that I had to throw out the entire content of my stomach. The weird part was, Lil' Sis had the same attack at about the same time at home (I was staying at the uni's apartment).

Ever since that day, I can never control the burping and farting activity in my body. If someone sits right next to me and massages his/her shoulder, I would start burping non-stop. Yeah, I am that weird. (No, I do not fart loudly in public :p ). If Lil' Sis is around, we'll become the burping duo, making weird burping sounds that can be orchestrated into songs..

I have been feeling a little under the weather for the past week. Hence, Mom had finally got tired of me complaining and called a professional 'tukang urut' last night. The moment she touches my skin, the kakak just could not stop burping - a sign that my body is full of gas. Every inch of my body was full with gas.

The sound emitted in the room was... 'musical' to the frog's ear. Macam katak panggil hujan. First, the kakak started to burp. Then, I followed her with extra bunyi-bunyian from down under. Luckily there was no candles lighted in the room. If not, I bet the room would have caught fire by the amount of gas that have been emitted. *tutup hidung*

After the massage, I felt light... Mana tak nya kan, all the gases have been released. However, my stomach felt like there was a hurricane twirling in it. Grrrooookkkk... grrroookkkk.....

Then suddenly....

prrrrooooooooottt.....

prrroooooooooottt...

prrroooooooooottt...

The gas woman have been released! And now she just can't stop farting....!

The dance of life...

The world is like a huge stage for charades that are played by us, humans.

There would be happy stories... like a few strangers exchanging hard-belly laughs in cyberspace and forging new found friendships. There would also be sad stories... like finding out that your husband of 2 months have been playing behind your back with your bestfriend and now leaving you for her.

Since the day you were born, you will dance the dance of life... First to the tunes of the nursery rhymes, where everything would seem bright and happy. Then when the teen age kicked in, the tunes will progress to the latest top 10 hit songs.. The songs will stay upbeat as you breeze through life, meeting new people, making new friends, learning new things... There would be a change of tunes during the rough times.. 1st break-ups, the time you lose your bestfriend for no reason, or the time when everything around you started to crumble.

However, the dance still went on after the short intermission. It might be of a different tune, a slightly mature tune, but it still went on... Dance... dance... dance...! You kept on dancing... Sometimes alone... At times with a partner...

And when your partner decides to leave you alone on the dance floor, the song might stop for a while, waiting for your next move. At that time, you have a choice of whether to continue dancing or just quit there and then.

It's your dance... your call...

But..... whatever your choice would be... the music will still go on...

Sweet temptations...

Have you ever get the feeling of wanting something that you can never get?

The extremely expensive handbag that is on display...

The extremely expensive shoe that matches the handbag...

The great outfit that would go super fine with the handbag and shoe...

The deliciously sweet dessert...

The great expensive holiday to your dream destination...

The great dream house with everything in it...

The unavailable guy...

It just sucks when you know you can be content with everything else BUT that one thing that you can't have.

*sigh*

Oh well... life goes on...

binx: i don't care.. i'm getting the bag!
