This Year's Love Had Better Last

This years love had better last
Heaven knows it's high time
And I've been waiting on my own too long
But when you hold me like you do
It feels so right
I start to forget
How my heart gets torn
When that hurt gets thrown
Feeling like you can't go on

Turning circles when time again
It cuts like a knife oh yeah
If you love me got to know for sure
Cause it takes something more this time
Than sweet sweet lies
Before I open up my arms and fall
Losing all control
Every dream inside my soul
And when you kiss me
On that midnight street
Sweep me off my feet
Singing ain't this life so sweet

This years love had better last
This years love had better last

Cause whose to worry
If our hearts get torn
When that hurt gets thrown
Don't you know this life goes on
And won't you kiss me
On that midnight street
Sweep me off my feet
Singing ain't this life so sweet

This years love had better last
(repeat til end)

Artist: David Gray
Album: White Ladder

I love this song... It illustrates how it is very hard for someone who was hurt before to open up to love once again. And the way David Gray sang it gives it an added emotion and it really touches the soul of the person who listens to it.

I am not condemning the 'happily ever after' concept. However, after going through a rough 8 years growing up in a broken family and also reading through the news of the growing number of divorce rates, I can't help to wonder if love is an absolute thing that a person should risk his/her life for?

Tired feet...

My feet have been killing me for the past few weeks. I have been experiencing foot cramps, especially when it gets cold and also while driving. And it is indeed a very painful ordeal. I think that all this might be due to all the running around in high heels that I have been doing during the crazy hectic period at work while I was still in Company X (well.. I still have to look good while doing the job, rite? hehehe).

Oh... I am so in need for a really good foot massage...

Can anyone recommend me a good foot reflexology place?

Time Out!

Last Saturday, we decided to exchange our trendy clothes and laptops for a pair of purple F.O.S's tops each and went hunting.

It was my elder sis's Alumi's Golden Jubilee celebration, and they have decided to organise a treasure hunt event. For the fun of it all four of us, including Mom, decided that it would be fun to try it out. Being virgin hunters, we didn't know what to expect out of it. After the briefing given by the organiser, we thought that it could not be THAT bad... and really thought that we could have a chance at winning.

We were flagged off at 9.52 a.m. from the Pusat Sains Negara in Bukit Kiara. The first leg of the hunt's route was easy, since it was just around the Damansara area, which we were very familiar with. Despite running over one trap hole in the middle of the road and almost hitting a few cars, while concentrating on solving the puzzle, my car faced no serious injury and was smooth sailing all the way.

However, we found the questions to be a little bit on the tough side. Only the first few questions were straight forward. The rest of it were really testing our not-so-creative brains. The best that we can do was just tembak the best answer that we could think of and justify it just to make ourselves feel good. One thing for sure, we surely had a lot of hard belly laughs while doing it...

After hi-five'ing and congratulating each other for solving each puzzle, we made our way back to the finish line. And to our surprise, we were to first team to arrive, almost an hour ahead of the rest of other teams. Tuh pun we all sempat lagi made a pit stop at a drive-through McDonalds to get a quick burger fix.

Was it a good sign that we have arrived early? No, I didn't think so... If it were Amazing Race, yeah it would have been a good sign. And my prediction came through when they revealed the answers to all the questions. Oh my... we were very far off... hehehehe.. We only got 14 out of 35 questions correct. But we sure do get alot of laughs out of it.

So the result was....

The Purple Puff Girls didn't win anything that day... but we came home with smiles on our faces.

It's HUGE...!

*not the real picture

Guy: Boss.. nasi goreng apa ada?
Tauke: You mau nasi goreng apa?
Guy: Apa you recommend?
Tauke: Well.. Nasi goreng cina, black pepper chicken, mushroom, pattaya...
Guy: Itu 4 jenis nasi goreng ka?
Tauke: Hey.. mana ada.. 1 la..
Guy: Huh?

Imagine my shock when I heard that... My god! If you think that it is one helluva nasi goreng, just wait till you see the nasi goreng itself.. It's HUGE! They need 2 polystyrene in order to tapau it up.

If you haven't had anything to eat for 3 days (and have a huge tummy space), and crave for good western/local food, I suggest you go to William's in Taman Mayang (behind Lim Kok Wing College), where their food comes in gigantic portions. Yet, at a very reasonable price. Even the drinks comes in giant-size mugs.. Memang terkencing laa nak habis kan sengsorang.

One note of advice: always ask William to recommend a meal.. He comes up with lots of amazingly delicious meals.

Embracing Freedom...

No more Beast...

No more Zorro...

No more cashflows...

No more Group consolidations...

I have finally made it to this day... The day I become an ex-employee of company X. Though it was indeed sad to part with those that were close to me, I feel somehow relieved as I walked out of the department's door for the last time, friday evening.

There was no turning back...

So... this is it.

I will be embarking on a new journey.

A journey to the unknown...

Happy day!

Mom and her friend had been trying to do some good deed by supplying food to the local mosque for the past few months. They will cook up some delicious food, and pack it up to be passed to the jemaah during the morning usrah.

Hence. since today was Awal Muharram Maulidul Rasul, they were pretty psyched up to supply packed nasi kerabu to the mosque around our neighbourhood. They even went all out as to go and borong the ingredients from the pasar borong at 10 p.m. last Sunday. I was surprised to come home at close to 2 a.m. (after the incident) to find mom in the kitchen cleaning the fishes for the nasi kerabu.

I woke up this morning to the commotion that came from downstairs. It seemed that her 'gang' had decided to camp at our house for the day for the big nasi kerabu project. All the ulam for the 'salad' were spread out on the dining table waiting to be cut/diced. The blue colored rice were already set to cook in 4 seperate rice cookers. The fried grated coconut and the special nasi kerabu sauce (tumis) are ready to be packed.

Although it seems like a tiring chore, all of us actually had fun - talking, laughing, joking around - while we set out packing up the nasi kerabu into small brown packets. Imagine 7 happy ladies in one house, laughing their hearts out to silly kelantanese jokes. Oh it was such a fun moment.

And since it was an off day, I decided to venture to Low Yatt to get all the office supplies for my new job. With an IT expert in tow, I roamed the mall in search of a new laptop, an external hard disk drive and a wireless router. Since I know nuts about all the technical aspects of the inside of a computer, I leave everything to the IT expert to conduct the product analysis. My task was just to dispense out the cash.

So, after 2 hours of gadget shopping, I came back with a brand new laptop!!! Wuhoo...

New job.. new laptop..

What more can I ask for?

It has been a very hectic weekend full of activities.

However, it had ended with a shattered hope...

Why u asked?

Sedey laa like this... So I guess I should change the name of the blog...
uwaaaa.....

2) I slipped while walking up a slippery stairway tonight and knocked my knee on the granite stairs.. That's not the worse part though... While trying to break my fall, I actually held out my hand that was holding my fog covered 3 weeks-old spectacles... And this was the result...

Hence, this calls for another visit to my optimetrist friend..!

The RM5 test

If you stumble upon a RM5 note on the street, let's say close to the entrance of an open air car park, would you...

a) pick it up and try to locate the owner, who might have ran because (s)he is late for work; or
b) pick it up and put it in your pocket; or
c) pick it up and passed it to the car park attendant; or
d) just walk away and do nothing?

Well, here's the story...

I have always been writing about my morning rush rite.. For the past few months, I have been very disorganised and was constantly tunggang-langgang. Hence, I kept losing the RM5 balance from the RM10.20 that I have paid for the RM5.20 parking fee.

The thing is, the parking attendant will always give me a receipt together with my RM5 balance. And I will always mistook the RM5 for the receipt and discard it on my way to the office building (dah kaya.. main buang-buang aje duit).

The first time I realised that I've dropped the RM5 was when a lady called out for me from the parking entrance. I was so surprised that the note could slip out of my grasp (but then I was juggling with my car keys, handbag, wallet and briefcase).

You would think that there will be no second time, RM5 is alot to be throwing it out just like that. Unfortunately, it happened again a few days after that. This time, I was the one that realised that I've dropped the RM5 note. However, as soon as I turned around I saw a guy picking it up and dropped it into his pocket! And he just walked off... as if nothing happened... ^@%^$^@$!##^%$&@...!

Once bitten, twice shy... On that note, I made it a point to check for my balance every time I pay the parking fee and made sure that the RM 5 bill is neatly tucked inside my wallet before I walked off to the office. I had dropped it a couple more times after that, but I managed to pick it up soon after.

Siapa tak sayang duit oi... Bak kata P.Ramlee.. rezeki.. rezeki...

So the next time you see a RM5 note lying around, think before you act... I might be behind a tree lurking around to catch you on the act.

The call...

...that came 2 years too late

*Phone rings*

Binx: Hello, good afternoon...
Caller: Hello, can I speak to Puan or Cik Binx...
Binx: This is Cik Binx speaking...
Caller: Ah.. Cik Binx, I'm Amir calling from the Property Division
Binx: Yes En Amir, how can I help you?
Caller: Well, I understand that you have applied for a car park space
Caller: FYI, one of our tenant had just moved out of the building
Caller: Hence, we would like of offer you a parking space...
Binx: *snicker* Oh... thank you so much for the kind offer..
Binx: However, I can't accept it...
Caller: But I understand that you have applied for a car park space rite?
Binx: Yes, but I submitted the application 2 years ago...
Binx: And since then I have been waiting for this phone call..
Binx: everytime I call to check my status, I'll always be #12 in line..
Binx: However, you are just 2 years too late...
Caller: Huh?
Binx: I've tendered my resignation and my last day will be next friday!
Caller: Ah.... I see...
Caller: Don't you want the parking space even for your final week?
Binx: Naah.. it's ok.. I don't mind paying RM5.20 for just 7 more days...
Binx: I wished your call would have come sooner
Caller: I'm sorry for the delay ya
Binx: (apa sorry2.. sorry naik lorry laa!) Ah.. it's ok...

It's funny how things work kan...

...You have been waiting to get a parking space inside the building for 2 year! Every single time you call to check the status of your application, you'll be brushed off with a rude remark saying that your application was still queing at #12 in line. You sigh at the thought every time you have to walk a few blocks up the hill at 11 pm during those late night sessions. You cursed the administrations every time you have to take a break before dark during those busy days just to move your car closer to the building, that was parked 5 minutes walk away from the building, just so that you don't have to walk alone in the dark to the scary parking place at 2.30 am after work ends. You mumbled vulgar words every time there were bird poop on your car, the result from having to park at an open car park area, after you have just gave it a good wash the day before...

...And 7 days before you leave the company for good, the call came...!

binx: *sigh*

I don't wanna grow up...!

... I'm a Toys 'R' Us Kid
... They got a million toys that I can play with!

After handing in the final cashflow today, I decided to reward myself a Rhumba. Hence, I drove to Mid Valley, since my friend wanted to catch up on the latest gossip over coffee... However, I was so dissapointed when I saw that they have covered the Rhumba on the menu with a white piece of paper.. No more Rhumba?!!! Nooooooooooooooo......!

Ok.. ok.. enough of being a drama queen..

After the gossip session, I accompanied my buddy to get a birthday gift for his 3-year old cousin. We went straight to the toy heaven - The Toys 'R' Us!

It has been ages since I last went into the store.. And as I roamed the isle, I cringed at the memories of my childhood.. All those childhood toys.. syoknyaaa...

I remembered playing this game every time I go to my friend's house after school during the primary school days. She used to have great collection of board games. Besides Risk, Mouse Trap, Boggle, UNO and Snake 'n' ladder, we also loved to play the Old Maid and Happy Family playing cards.. Do they still have those playing cards ah?

Apart from the traditional batu seremban, bottle caps, guli, skipping rope and lompat teng-teng, another one of my favourite game used to be the pick-up sticks. I can spend hours just playing this game. Sometimes we will perform some silly techniques just to collect as much sticks with the highest points. Oh.. such fun days...

However, now they have come up with more interesting board games, incorporating the latest movie series such as Star Wars, Harry Potter and The Lord of The Rings. My sis owns the Special Edition LOTR Monopoly set which has an interesting twist to the regular game. And today, I've found another interesting LOTR board game that had made my buddy drool for it... Imagine a full grown-up man drooling over a board game.. hehehe.. Not a pretty sight for sure! Eh, dude, if you ever decide to get it, don't forget to invite me over to play ya.. nak main jugak! *winks*

After drooling over all the newly improved board games, he finally decided to get the cousin an electronic drum sticks. It is an absolutely cool toy for a kid... With just a single flick on the wrist and a push of a button, you can create various drum sounds. I was actually enjoying myself playing with the stick, while roaming around the store.. And I bet my darling friend will have a full go at it tonight before wrapping it up for the cousin.

So, what kind of toys did you play with while growing up?

binx: also bought another pair of shoe!!

Shopaholics on the loose

When women are depressed, they either eat or go shopping. Men invade another country. It's a whole different way of thinking.
