My so-called weekend...

Said goodbye to Lil' Sis early Saturday morning. Her one and a half month holiday was up and it was time for her to gear up for another so-called tough semester in Perth. Just hope that this time around things will be easier for her with her ex so-called housemate out of her hair.

We took a slight detour on our way back from KLIA to have a taste of the so-called famous Nasi Lemak Cikgu in Kelana Jaya. However, I was tad disappointed to say that I've tasted yummier nasi lemak then that. I guess the owner was too hyped out about the so-called famous name and publicity to maintain the quality of nasi lemak he serves. That's usually the case of these so-called famous eating outlets nowadays. After all the media hu-ha, the food served becomes tasteless, served in a sloppy manner against a very high price. Sad...

After finally getting my car to the car wash for its so-called once-every-two-months wash, I managed to get myself into bed again for a long awaited blissful nap. And I tell you, it was heavenly. At last, a weekend in bed. No unbalanced cashflows, no problematic group consol accounts, just some cheques to go through, which can be done on Monday. Just what I needed to recharge my battery after the so-called 3 hectic weeks at work.

Spent my Saturday night glued to the idiot box, watching the AF concert. Yeah, I do watch AF.. No, not because of the so-called famous Mawi. Even though he has a very sexy head (I have the head-fetish *lol*), I was more interested to see Amylea performs. And her performance was indeed a superb one. Was glad when Aznil announced that she managed to secure a place in the so-called final concert. Go go Amylea...!!

After getting some shut eye at about 2.00 a.m. (went through the lecture notes for today's lecture), I was already up and about by 8.00 a.m. on a Sunday morning. Oh well, a girl can't have it all.. enough lazing around yesterday. Hence, by 10.00 a.m. I was already in class, all geared up (with enough stock of chocolates and mentos) for a so-called 6-hours lecture, which went OK. I spent half of the time in class noticing that the lecturer kept saying "so-called" in an average of once in every 2 to 3 sentences (25 times in 30 minutes - yeah I actually counted). It was actually driving me crazy (hence the occasional "so-called" phrases in this post)... I can't help but to notice the disturbing phrase every single time it pops out of her mouth. Just like another lecturer I had 2 semesters ago that just love to say "Do you follow?" (in a deep voice) at the end of every single sentence! It just drives me crazy, I tell you...

Caught the so-called Hungarian GP tonight and was all fired up to see a McLaren 1-2 finish this time around. At first it all looked like the so-called pit stop strategy was working out well for Abg Toya. And he was leading when the drive shaft failure happened. What a disappointing moment for Abg Toya to have to retire halfway through the race. The McLaren's so-called nightmare that had stolen Kimi's so-called dream of securing the race last week had continued to haunt them. I just hope that they'll try to resolve what ever problem they have during the next 3 weeks before the next race so that Kimi can charged up to the checkered flag few more times ahead of Alonso to secure the so-called Championship title for 2005. Can it be done? I sure do hope so.

So, that was how I spent my so-called weekend. How was yours?

Have a so-called good week ahead yeah...

binx: time to rest my so-called body after a long so-called day...

Familiar face...

"You look very familiar. Where have I met you before, ek?"

I've heard that statement countless times before. And today, another girl asked me that very same question.

Hmmm.. Maybe they've met my 7 twins kut.. There's a saying that in this world there'll be 7 people that looks exactly like you.. I've once discussed about it with Baine before and he even blogged about this topic months ago.

I guess all my 7 twins must be very popular for people to notice them and thought that they were me.

I've had the chance to ask some of the people that had claimed that they've seen my face before/I look very familiar/I look like someone they know personally. Facts that I've collected so far about my so-called twins...

... My sister's Japanese friend had once told me that there's one Japanese actress who looks just like me.

... My ex had once said that he saw me shopping at BSC. He was pissed because I didn't even acknowledge him when he passed by (we've broken up by that time). All this happened while the real Binx was half-awake in class, listening to a boring tax lecture.

... A guy once waved at me excitedly in the LRT and came over to chat. He was asking me lots of questions that I quickly scanned my brain to check if I actually know the guy. However, I realised that he thought I was his old uni mate that he hasn't seen for a couple of years.

Interesting kan?

There's another malay saying that says "pelanduk 2 serupa" when people say that there's another person that looks exactly like you. Why do they relate it to pelanduk (dear) pun I dunno. Maybe because all dears look the same kut kan?

On my drive home from my visit to a subsidiary in Nilai today, I was thinking about the statement that the girl made earlier this morning. Wouldn't it be cool if I could actually meet all these people that look like me. It would be great to sit down and chat over Rhumba and just trade stories. I wonder if people ever got them confused with the other 6 of us at the table. Plus, it would be very interesting to find out about the life of the famous superstar Binx and also the shopaholic Binx kan... *winks*

Nowadays my standard reply for the statement at the top tadi would be...

"Lorr.. you don't know ke? I laa yang act in the advert yg famous tuh..."

and just walk away...

binx: looking fwd to meet all my twin pelanduks...

Things I want to do before....

I caught myself saying that over and over again for the last two weeks. Yeah, the work load was bad.. I had a triple dosage of datelines that I had to meet. Plus, constant reminder from a dear friend, that there's life outside the office door, does not help to make the matter easier.

During the time that I was stuck in the office, my mind had wandered off, thinking of all the things that I could've done within all the time spent crunching the numbers. Hence, I've made a list of things that I want to do before I reach a certain age...

Since age is catching up with me real fast, I can no longer list the things that I want to do before I reach 25... I'm almost done with being 25. Maybe I should list out the things that I want to do before I reach 30 (Insyallah if panjang umur...)

Here goes (in random order)...

1) Quit my job!!
2) Start my own business
3) The ultimate vacation in the UK & perhaps visit Dublin Girl in Ireland
4) Get my ACMA title (wuhooo and get people to call me "Ms Accountant")
5) Travel the world (at least 1 trip every year, like Kak Nor)
6) Go white water rafting / bungee jumping
7) Try out more recipes
8) Laugh more and frown less
9) Try out the paintball war game (is it that painful?)
10) Have the time to take off work when ever I feel like it...
11) Be able to convince Berjaya Coffee to sell part of its stake in Starbucks to me!!! (Rhumba all night long...)

Will I be able to realise all the things on my list? Well, Antoine de Saint says that a goal without a plan is only a wish.. Do I have a plan charted out? Oh... but of course! *winks*

So, do you have a list too?

binx: kenapa? tak percaya ka?

Random thoughts...

...I have been working for 15 days straight now and my back is killing me. I really wonder how I can last this long, slaving myself every day from 8.30am to 8.30pm. I must not get used to this.. Bad bad bad...

...I miss Mrs. Wacko. She's no longer connected to the virtual world. There's no longer a morning greeting from her every morning. And even though I usually make a huge fuss about her yacking away all her wacko thoughts day in day out, I secretly enjoy her animated conversations. Mrs. W.. go get urself the 3G card and start YM'ing again soon yeah... My days in the office will never be the same without you...

...Salary dah masuk today.. Proceeds from the shares pun dah masuk jugak.. Bank balance suddenly jumped up to 5-digits.. Rasa kaya for a moment.. A moment aje.. Tomorrow have to deduct the capital Mama loaned me for the ESOS purchased, pay out the credit card debts (college fees), pay the car loan.. In the end, the balance will come down to the normal amount balik.. oh well, I might else well enjoy the feeling while it last.

...Shopping carnival is back! Perfect timing betul laa.. Really need to get myself a new work shoe. My Pierre Cardin shoe that I've bought 4 years ago is really eating my feet now.. And I need a new work bag (my Doremon bag is getting worn out from its everyday use), new work pants and shirts (am bored with the current collection plus I think I've outgrown most of my shirts - am I still growing?).

...I am a terrible person for breaking a friend's heart. I guess I was not matured enough to face the friend and tell him straight to his face how I truly feel. Perhaps I was afraid of the confrontation that might take place during the meeting. Maybe I just can't take any pressure right now, especially when my time is very limited due to work and study. Maybe I just don't want to reason out with him as to why I am sticking to my decision not matter what he says. I know I should at least say something to him, but I'm too tired to say anything for the time being.. As guilty as I feel right now, I just hope that he will understand and forgive me for my childish act...

binx: i need retail therapy quick!

Errkkk...

I went to work again today.. My 2nd time in 2 weeks working over the weekend. That means I have been working for 14 days straight.. Crazy eh..?

Anyway, that's besides the point.

After full 3 hours of concentrating on the group consol accounts, my tummy was complaining to be fed by lunch time. And as usual, my colleagues decided to call for pizza. That's the custom meal for us, who works over the weekend. We were too lazy to walk the distance to get a decent lunch. Hence, all we needed to do was just to dial 1-300-88-2525...

Since the guys were too lazy to make the order, yours truly were given the task to do so. Hence, I've called the restaurant for the first time using my handphone. The guy that took my order was extra friendly today. However, I just ignored his over-friendly tone because I was concentrating on the fact that it'll take them 45 minutes to deliver the order. It was 12.30 p.m. when I made the call and I need to be in class at 2 p.m.. Macam the sempat aje.. Hence, I've asked him to try and make it in less than the said time (mcm restaurant tuh bapak i yg punya aje.. hehehehe)

Well, tunggu punya tunggu... the runner finally came at 1.30 p.m.. I was almost out of the door when the guy arrived. So, makan laa lunch dengan rush'nya.. Nasib baik tak tercekik.

OK..... What I wanted to share with all of you is..

NEVER GIVE OUT YOUR HANDPHONE NUMBER WHEN YOU MAKE YOUR ORDERS!!

Because....

I received an sms tonight that reads...

Hi binx. Diz Ravi (pizza). U did sound sweet n would like 2 know u. If u dun like sori 2 disturb. Will b my last msg 2 u. Sms bck. tc :)

Errrkkkk..... Scary ain't it?

Is this how they try to pick-up girls nowadays?

Actually, this is not the first time I've received such a message.

The last time was however in the form of a phone call. It was from a guy in the credit card application department of a local bank. He called just to 'chat', so he said. Luckily I am not the type of girl that would layan such phone call from a stranger. I just politely asked how he got my number and what was his purpose of calling. When I got to know where he got my number from, I straight away asked him never to repeat such act and said that I will report it to his superior soon.

I bet I'm not the only one who've faced such situations... However, how do we put a stop to it?

binx: sorry.. wrong number...

Malu....

I'm embarassed with my own race...

I know I shouldn't be saying that and I know I might be getting lots of hate mails after this. However, this is what I truly feel right now.

I was queing to photocopy some documents at a small kiosk near my office building during lunch today. The aunty was very slow in operating the machine. It took her almost 5 minutes just to attend to a customer. I didn't mind actually, because I understand that that was not the daily job (her husband usually operates the machine while she handles the cash register).

Suddenly, a malay lady came in with a sour face and started to accuse the aunty of taking her photocopied documents. She said that the aunty had held back one of the document (a personal written letter).

Lady: Kenapa awak nak ambik surat saya...
Lady: Tak baik tau awak curi barang orang...
Lady: Saya bukannya india (referring to the aunty's race) pun kalau awak nak baca..
Lady: Macam laa awak faham apa yang saya tulis tuh...
Aunty: *silent*
Binx: *shakes head*
Lady: Kalau macam nieh macam mana awak nak maju..
Lady: Ntah2 ada terlekat dalam machine nieh kut
Lady: Isk.. tak baik laa awak curik document org..
Lady: pok pek pok pek.. tuh laa india nieh.. pok pek pok pek..
Lady: Kalau betul u curik my document, I tak halal this 10 sen..

.. and she walked off..

Astaghfirullah....

I was shocked to hear a very 'alim' lady accusing an innocent Indian aunty like that. Why would the aunty want to take her document in the first place? Bukannya lady tuh famous pun to the extend that the aunty can sell off the letter to the press for hot news. And to bring up the race issue and associate it with such act.. I really think it was disgraceful. MALU!!

The government, UMNO especially, was trying to raise the standards of Malays. However, I really think that their vision will be unfruitful. This is not because I don't have faith in the leaders of the country. It's just that I don't have faith in my own race...

Try observing the scenes around you. Who are the ones caught having sex in the bush in a public park? Who are the ones caught for organising "Lumba Haram" street race every weekends? Who are the ones caught raping their own daughters or even sodomising their own sons?

Maybe the scenes I've described was too much.. Ok let's take a look at other scenarios...

Who are the ones that gets easily accepted to the local universities without having to sit for STPM? Who are the ones that gets the privellege to be sponsored by the government agencies to pursue their tertiary education locally and abroad? Who are the ones that spend most of their time in university exploring all the excitement in life (rusa masuk kampung) and ended up graduating in the lowest ranking class (if they graduate at all) ?

I know these are the extreme cases. However, most of the answers point out to one race, kan? Nak cakap kutuk bangsa sendiri, tak laa jugak. I'm just stating the obvious. If you think you can't handle these facts, please stop reading now.

Yes, no doubt there are Malays that had made us proud. Those are the exceptional ones that had run away from the normal cliche that has been associated with Malays. Those people are the ones that we should set as our example.

Ok.. If I were to elaborate more on how I feel, I am afraid that I might not see the next daylight. Hence, I shall stop here now.. But before I conclude, I just want to say that I am proud that I am a Malay, it is just that I am ashamed to be associated with those kinds of Malays that I've mentioned above.

Here's a song that we used to sing in MRSM that really sparks the 'semangat kemelayuan' in me whenever I hear it. I remember seeing the lyrics printed and framed in our library at home when dad was around...

Warisan

Anak kecil main api
Terbakar hatinya yang sepi
Airmata darah bercampur keringat
Bumi dipijak milik orang

Nenek moyang kaya raya
Tergadai seluruh harta benda
Akibat sengketa sesama kita
Cita lenyap di arus zaman

Indahnya bumi kita ini
Warisan berkurun lamanya
Hasil mengalir ke tangan yang lain
Pribumi merintih sendiri

Masa depan sungguh kelam
Kan lenyap peristiwa semalam
Tertutup hati terkunci mati
Maruah peribadi dah hilang

Kini kita cuma tinggal kuasa
Yang akan menentukan bangsa
Bersatulah hati bersama berbakti
Pulih kembali harga diri

Kita sudah tiada masa
Majulah dengan gagah perkasa
Janganlah terlalai teruskan usaha
Melayu kan gagah di Nusantara

Let's do dinner...

"Let's do dinner, coz I have something to tell..."

Where have I heard that line before...?

Maybe it was back in 1998 when I was in the midst of finishing my final assignment for my first semester in uni. The day's drama is still fresh in my mind...

I was staying at the apartment that the uni had rented for us due to the shortage of hostels on campus. It was in Serdang Raya, Sri Kembangan. We were all struggling to find a printer to print out our assignment report that day. The printer in our apartment suddenly has a mind on its own and refuse to print out accordingly. Hence, off we went in search of a cyber cafe around the Serdang area.

After 2 hours of scouting for a cafe, we have found one in the heart of Serdang that charges us minimal cost for the whole report. Pheewh..!

However, during the chaotic ordeal, I didn't realised that I've left my handphone on silent mode in the car. Imagine the shocked I received after discovering that there were over 20 missed calls within that 2 hours.

"You have 10 unheard messages.. "

Msg #1: "Binx.. call home please.."
Msg # 2: "Binx.. where are you? Call home ASAP..."
Msg #5: "Hei.. where are you girl.. why are you not picking up your phone?!!"
Msg #8: "Binx.. call home...!"
Msg #10: "I hope you are ok.. please call home.. urgent!"

"Beeeep....."

Panicked stricken, I dialed home and heard Lil' Sis's shaky voice...

LS: Where have you been?
B: Sorry.. I left the phone in the car tadi.. What's up?
LS: Can you come back tonight? Something came up..
B: I'm in the middle of finishing up my assignment.. Napa nieh?
LS: Ayah called.. He asked us out for dinner tonight..
B: Dinner? Napa?
LS: He has something important to tell the 3 of us..
B: 3?
LS: Mama's not coming with us...
B: OK... I'll be back in time for dinner...

At 8.30 p.m Ayah arrived in front of the house to pick us girls up. We were very anxious about the whole ordeal. Before we left, Mama had told me that things were a bit messy at home. Hence, I kinda sense what is going to be discussed during dinner. My heart goes out to Mama at home, who was at that time recovering from a fibroid operation.

The car we were in suddenly made a right turn at the traffic light. And suddenly we were heading towards on of the 5-star hotel in the neighborhood... It was typical of him to pick out such glamorous place to have dinner to avoid any outburst and unwanted scenes...

Ayah was in a jovial mood, which was a total opposite of what the 3 of us felt at that time. I didn't know how to react at that moment. I can't pretend that I didn't feel any resentment towards the man, whom I looked up to and respect.

Ayah: So.. how are my girls?
Ayah: Akak.. how's work? Good?
KN: Ok...
Ayah: Binx, how's your study?
Binx: Ok...
Ayah: Baby ayah... amacam sekolah? Banyak bf ke?
LS: *silent*
Ayah: Why the silent treatment nieh?
All: *silent*
Ayah: Ok fine.. Since none of you seems to want to talk, I have something to tell you..
Ayah: From today onwards, I no longer will be living in the house...
Ayah: I am releasing your mother...

*Gedebab*

That's how I felt when my heart sank that night.

And that is why I hate it whenever I receive a dinner invitation with a "I have something to tell you..." message attached to it.

Of Rings & Bracelets

Arrived home today earlier than usual and found Mom at her normal place at the dining table, with her laptop and open files.

Binx: Ma... what happened to our garden chairs kat depan tuh? Takde pun.. mana pegi?
Mama: Loh.. dah kena curik yesterday morning..
Binx: Huh? Really? Isk...
Mama: Must be the same people that took the garden table dulu kut..
Binx: When did you realised it?
Mama: Emma (the maid) said that it was gone since early morning..
Binx: Meaning the person came in during the night? Scary nya..
Mama: Yeah... Isk.. sakit kepala Mama.. (que: massaged her head)

Then I saw the blinking, shining bracelet...

Binx: Wah.. a new bracelet laaa tuh..
Mama: Of course..
Binx: Yang hari tuh punya mana?
Mama: Lil' Sis nak.. so I gave it to her..
Binx: Hmmm.. ok
Mama: But I have 2 more stones that they've cut out from the bracelet nieh..
Mama: Nak buat apa ek?
Binx: I dunno laa ma..
Mama: Kalau buat rings.. I have 3 daughters.. so tak cukup
Binx: No thanks ma.. I don't like rings..
Mama: Macam mana nak kawin nieh?
Binx: Well, I don't need to wear a wedding ring...
Binx: I can ask for a bracelet or even a necklace..
Binx: Boleh kan?

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Well.. that's the fact.. I don't like to wear rings. Why? Because I don't think it looks nice against my ranting-like fingers. So buruk... While most girls are conscious about their body parts, e.g. thighs, tummy, cheek, nose and etc., I am conscious about my fingers. This is because many people said that my fingers are funny. One friend associated it with ranting kayu, while another disagreed and said that it resembles the long beans (kacang panjang). Another darling friend actually said that my fingers looks like Gollum's in LOTR.

Hence, since I can't endure all the jokes cracked about my fingers, I've tried my best not to do anything with it to attract attention to it. That was how I discovered that by wearing a bracelet, it will shift the focus away from my ranting-like fingers to my wrist. And it worked!

I have been wearing a white gold bracelet for the past 2 years and I love it dearly. I've bought the bracelet after I sat for my CIMA exam for the first time. The paper was tough and I was so sure that I've flunked it. Hence, when Lil' Sis came to pick me up at the exam hall, I've asked her to drive straight to MidValley for some retail therapy. I ended up treating myself to a white gold bracelet and a necklace that day. It was indeed a therapy for I've forgotten about the exam soon after the salesgirl slipped the bracelet on my wrist.

Ok back to the question about giving bracelet or necklace to replace wedding rings.. it can be done kan? I've seen a few people doing it now. However, they would still have a ring either for the engagement or for the wedding. Can I not have any rings at all..? Would it be ok? I mean, people would usually identify a married men and women by the ring that they wear on their fingers. Hence, if I were married and not have a ring on my ranting-like fingers, would it confuse people?

Apa laa Binx merepek tengah2 malam nieh kan.. However, it is just some points to ponder...

binx: tak kira... nak bracelet jugak....

It has been a long day...

I am so exhausted... physically, mentally and spiritually...

Exhausted because...

... I've been waiting since Friday for some pending information for work. And up until today, I've only received 3/4 of the things I need to produce my report. Which will lead to me coming in during the weekend to finish up the report... *sigh*

... after 3 months of waiting for another pending query to be replied, the information finally arrived today. However, it was not what I have asked for.. I don't understand why would someone spend so much time going over some minor detail (that was not even settled in the end) and take 3 months to produce something which lacks of breath and depth and has zero quality value.. In the end, I will end up doing it all over again, something which is not in my job scope in the 1st place. *sigh*

... I've just spent 3 hours in class, listening to a lecturer who was forced to teach the class at a last minute notice. The lecturer that I have signed up for had ditched the college to teach in Auckland and had caused a chaos to the college for informing them 1 week prior to the commencement of the semester.. How cool is that.. And for us, who had expected the said lecturer to teach us, we were really disappointed when we heard the news. I've paid RM800 just so that I can sit in for the said lecturer's class. Now, I have to settle for a stand in lecturer who is reluctant to take up another class with his jammed-packed schedule.. Ajar pun macam terpaksa... *sigh*

... I had to endure constant flirting from someone. He has been at it for quite some time now and it's getting on my nerves. I mean, I can tolerate the light flirting lah.. coz I know he's not serious about it. Hence, sometimes in order to shut him up I just play along with him. However, I'm getting exhausted with his games and gets agitated whenever he tries to pull another one of his sugar-coated lines... Rimasssss... *sigh*

I guess all I need now is some rest and hope that tomorrow will be a better and brighter day...

binx: *sigh* *yawns* zzzzz....

Life is like a box of chocolate....

You'll never know what you are gonna get....

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I've attended 2 wedding receptions of a dear friend for 2 days in a row. And it was such lovely events.

What makes the whole thing more interesting was that after meeting the people at the receptions, I realised that it is indeed a small world after all.

During the 2 days, I've met up with long lost friends from my primary school, secondary school and also a uni mate that I haven't seen for 2 years. I've also made new friends, that are friends of my friends in Dublin and in school. Berbelit kan? Imagine how overwhelmed I was to absorb everything in 2 days.

A is a friend of B, who is a close friend of mine in school.
C is best buddies with D, who is the husband of my ex-dorm mate in school.
E is A's best friend, whom I met through the bloggersphere...

Twisted kan.....

On another note, weddings always makes me think of life and partners.

In life, you meet lots of different people. People that you like and forge a friendship link with, people that u admire, people that you love, people that u hate, and what not.

The question that always creeps into my head, especially during wedding, is that.. out of these thousand of people that walk in and out of your life, how would you know who is the ONE that you'll spend the rest of your life with? Is there an invisible arrow that points out that person? How sure are you that that is the person that will want to grow old with you?

Do indulge me with your views.. for I am clueless...

I Wanna Grow Old With You

I wanna make you smile,
whenever you're sad.
Carry you around when your arthritis is bad.
Oh, all i wanna do, is grow old with you.

I'll get your medicine when your tummy aches,
Build you a fire if the furnace breaks.
Oh, it could be so nice, growin' old with you.

I'll miss you, kiss you,
Give you my coat when you are cold,
need you, feed you.
I'll even let you hold the remote control.

So let me do the dishes in our kitchen sink,
put you to bed when you've had too much to drink.
Oh I could be the man who grows old with you.
I wanna grow old with you...

I Walk Alone...

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

I walk alone in this world
meeting new people at every destination and every mile
some of them stayed for a while
but most walk away after a smile

When would I have a companion
that would travel the world with me?
To accompany me through the great moments
and cry with me, hold me and listen when I lament
Someone who can make me smile to the world
makes me feel brave enough to face problems that were hurled

I long to have that special someone
with whom I could share a day's stories with
over coffee under the moonlight
However, my journey has only just begun
There's still a long way to go
I have no idea of what is waiting ahead
I would just keep on hoping that my long awaited companion
would be waiting for me at my next stop....

All in a day's work...

1.

Listened to The Hitz Morning Crew this morning, like every other morning. However, the Gotcha Call segment today had really got me cracking. For those who doesn't tune in to the show, they have this segment where people can write in to punk'd their friends and families. Hence, either the Morning Crew or the person can act out the punk'd joke on air everyday.

Today's Gotcha call (or actually yesterday's but it was aired today) was played on one guy in JB whose girlfriend had planned out a scene to make him crazy jealous. The scene was actually a normal scene acted out by the Crew. However, what made the call extra interesting was the fact that the guy was actually speaking in a U.S. nigger street lingo. My goodness... He was putting up this "hey listen up y'all, look at me.. I'm the best playa around" kinda act. JJ, the DJ that made the call was actually dancing along to his tune with the "wasssup bro, you're too cool for the gal" act.. I tell you, the guy was so POYO that his indian accent actually slipped out a couple of times that makes him sound so stupid. He was too POYO to the extend that there was one caller that called in immediately after that asking for the guy's address so that he can knock some sense into the guy's head.. "Hey, he is an Indian for God's sake..!"

"The Word Is Born man...!"

2.

I am exposed...!

Received a call from a fellow colleague who is based in the HR dept today. She found my blog...! Hmm.. the slow and bad liar me couldn't think fast enough to cover my tracks.

Anyway, she's cool about it (I hope). However, once 1 person can crack through the wide web.. you can never be too sure when the next strike will be. Hence, I shall stop blogging about work related matters from now on.. errrmm.. Can I resist? I shall try... No more mentioning about AB or LD or LC anymore.. bahaya oooo....

3.

Had a very interesting conversation with a friend today. It was about how someone's background can actually influence a friendship. Can you actually be friends with someone, got along well and carries on interesting conversations every time you meet and suddenly become cold when you find about about his or her background? Does a person's background change your perspective towards him or her? It was really an interesting topic to debate about.

4.

Finally got around to kemas my room tonight. Have to make some room for me to study since classes have commenced last Saturday. No more playing around every single night. Needs to get serious.. (hahaha... me? serious? hmm... let me get back to you on that one). So, I've cleared out all the junks on my small foldable table and found my old scrapbook with all my writings since school. Even a break-up letter to the ex that I didn't get a chance to post was still in it. It's cool to read all those stupid poetries that I have written eons ago.. Some of it ok laa.. not all bad.. Well I can add that to the collection of Binx's memorabilia to be displayed in my memorial later on along side my old report cards and rekod kemajuan murid *lol*.... That is IF I marry either the Prime Minister of any of the Sultans laa kan.. *winks*

5.

Got news that London was under attack this morning (around petang our local time). Checked out bbc.com and found out the scoop. Is it going to be another 9/11 tragedy? What has the world come to? Why would someone be so cruel as to cause such harm to innocent people?

So many questions left unanswered.

However, it is not a surprising fact that whenever such tragedy occurred the highly dignified leader of such country would straight away rule out the incident to be the work of terrorists... Ntah laa.. It's just a shame that the attack was launched on the very same day that people are gathering to try find solutions to eradicate poverty in Africa.

My prayers goes to all the victims and their families that was involved in the tragedy. May Allah keep all of them safe from harm and danger. To friends living in London and around the vicinity, my prayers goes out to all of you too..

Powerful words...

The thing that I love most about watching One Tree Hill show, besides the hot, handsome, cute and intriguing Chad Michael Murray, is the ending quote that Lucas narrates at the end of every episode... If you really take time to digest those words, you will realise that they are very powerful words...

Do not let your fire go out, spark by irreplaceable spark, in the hopeless swamps of the approximate, the not-quite, the not-yet, the not-at-all. Do not let the hero in your soul perish in lonely frustration for the life you deserved, but have never been able to reach. Check your road and the nature of your battle. The world you desired can be won. It exists, it is real, it is possible, it is yours.

Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged

To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting.

E. E. Cummings

There is a tide in the affairs of men
Which, taken at the flood, leads on to fortune;
Omitted, all the voyage of their life
Is bound in shallows and in miseries.
On such a full sea are we now afloat;
And we must take the current when it serves,
Or lose the ventures before us.

William Shakespeare, Julias Ceasar

All the Love in the World...

I'm not looking for someone to talk to
I've got my friends, I'm more than ok
I've got more than a girl could wish for
I live my dreams but it's not all they say

Still I believe
I'm missing something real
I need someone who really sees me

Chorus:
Don't wanna wake up alone anymore
Still believing you'll walk through my door
All i need is to know it's for sure
Then I'll give all the love in the world

I've often wondered if love's an illusion
Just to get you through the loneliest days
I can't criticize it - I have no hesitation
My imagination just stole me away

Still I believe
I'm missing something real
I need someone who really sees me

Chorus

Love's for a lifetime
Not for a moment
So how could I throw it away
Yeah I'm only human
And nights grow colder
With no-one to love me that way
Yeah I need someone who really sees me

And I won't wake up alone anymore
Still believing you'll walk through my door
You'll reach for me and I'll know it's for sure
Then I'll give all the love in the world
(don't wanna wake up alone)...

This song has been in my head since last night. Heard it when I was browsing through the web. Hence, I tried searching for the live accoustic version of the song that I thought I had downloaded eons ago.. Takde! Ziltch! Hmmm.. Anyone has that version? Email it to me please...

Enjoy...

Another Change

Due to some unforseen reason, I have to change the template back to a standard Blogger template. Some people can't view the previous one properly - the sidebar seemed to have a mind of its own and keep blocking the body of the blog. Hence, a newly improved new home....

Letter for the Moon - The Beginning

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Dear Man on the Moon...

This is my first time writing to you. I just felt like talking to you tonight. It just seemed like the best thing to do in the middle of the night, while everyone else are dreaming away in la la land.

I've just finished watching a great drama on TV, Surat Untuk Bulan, which had inspired me to write this letter to you. Even though the character in the drama seemed a lil' wacko for a sexy, beautiful girl, I kinda understand the feeling that she felt after being able to let out her feelings to you when she has no one else to turn to. It must have been some kind of therapeutic way to release her sadness, happiness, anger and etc.

Hence, I'm trying out her technique because I am curious if this letter will help me feel better. Actually, there is nothing much for me to say in this letter for now. I am not all sad but I am not all ecstatic either. I shall say that I am perhaps in between those two extremes.

Man on the Moon...

Have you ever felt like you are alone in this world, even though you are surrounded by family and friends? I bet you have never been alone because you are always surrounded by the Air, the Clouds and the Stars. There are times when the loneliness feeling just embraces me that leaves me feeling empty and alone. I can't help myself but to dwell in the moment and starts feeling sorry for myself.

I know that it is bad to feel that way. However, when faced with such situation, my heart and emotions tend to take the front seat while my brain decides to take the day off. Maybe that is just the pathetic me, feeling sorry for myself. Please.. please.. please Man on the Moon.. please make this feeling go away...

No, I don't think finding myself a partner will solve the problem straight away. Plus, I don't wanna be seen as a desperate person and just grab the first person that comes my way. Things are not that simple, right? However, it is not that complicated either. (Now I'm starting to sound like a wacko myself)...

I know I should have faith in Allah. I do.. I truly do. However, I really need some guidance from Him in order to show me the right path. I need help from you too, Man on the Moon. I need you to shine your brightest and lead me to the right path for I am now blindly walking in the dark without any direction...

I guess I'll stop here for now. This will not be my last letter to you for I really feel good talking to you, Man on the Moon. Talking is always good, but I wish that we could have done it over a cup of Rhumba though (pun intended). If you ever decided to come down for a visit, I promise to treat you for a Rhumba, ok. I can guarantee that you'll never regret it and even perhaps will come down more frequent after the addiction starts to kick in *winks*.

Till the next full moon... take care.

Lots of love,

Binx
xxox

Dream of Me

Let me sleep
For when I sleep I dream that you are here
You're mine
And all my fear is left behind
I float on air
The nightengale sings gentle lullabies
So let me close my eyes...

And sleep, the chance to dream
So I can see the face
I long to touch to kiss
But only dreams can bring me this
So let the moon shine
Softly on the boy I long to see
And maybe when he dreams
He'll dream of me.

I hide beneath the clouds
And whisper to the evening stars
They tell me love is just a dream away...
Dream away...
A dream away.

So let the moon shine
Softly on the boy I long to see
And maybe when he dreams...
He'll dream of me.

Qtr3 2005

How time flies... Today, we've entered into the 3rd quarter to the year.

Recapping the 1st half of my Y2005, so far...

* 2 girlfriends got hitched
* Jigga too got hitched and expecting a baby soon
* I became one of the permanent residents of the 5th floor of MB
* Lil' Sis went off to Perth
* Learnt to manage my personal finance better
* Made great new friends on the blogsphere
* Received a teddy from someone
* Lost 2 great colleagues and a Rhumba buddy
* Went for Umrah trip with the family
* Manage to reach the office in time every morning (winks)

And as of today, I'm officially promoted to Assistant Accountant.

Hence, I can say that my 1st half of Y2005 has been very interesting. Plus, if I were to measure up to my new year's resolutions, I've accomplished 4 out of 7 things on the lists.. Not bad eh..

Here's a wish for a great 2nd half of Y2005. May all of your wishes and resolutions be realised too, insyallah...
