"Raya kan sebulan..."

Some of you might not agree with that statement. However, with that statement in mind, my lil' sis and I got to squeeze in a small get-together-raya-do last weekend. Yes... yes.. Raya ended last Friday.. That was what we told our guests. But that didn't stop them from chanting "Selamat Hari Raya!" when they walked in through our front door yesterday.


Why so late? Well, I was busy with my exams during the "real" raya that I didn't really get to enjoy the food. Lil' Sis was away in Perth and was also struggling with her finals on the raya day itself. Hence, we thought we should celebrate our "temporary" independence period with some makan-makan session with our closest friends.


What was on the menu? Let's see... There was...


1) Laksa Johor
2) Nasi Dagang
3) My signature Chocolate Brownies
4) and great company...

Despite all the hard labour being put into the whole preparation, plus the horrible mood swings that almost caused the event to be cancelled, everything turned out great for the day. The food were delicious (I have testimonials from my guests, if you don't believe me), the house was presentable (someone said it was 'homey' that they didn't want to leave *winks*), and the guests were the people a host would want to invite for any makan-makan session (they can really eat.. hehehe).


And thanks to the wonders of paper cups and plates, "bibik" didn't have to spend most of her time standing near the kitchen sink. Some guests who knew about our "bibik" situation even wanted to share plates and cups! Sabar aje laaa...


Well, I had a great weekend with lots of food stuffed down my throat... Hope yours were equally great too, if not better.
