Let's do some math...

I'm not being calculative here.. However, after working for 26 days non-stop (except for the 1 day of MC) for the month, I just can't help but to wonder: How much will I get if they (the Company) were to pay me Overtime allowance?

So people, bear with me, while I do the calculation here ok..


Let's see...


For simplicity purposes, let's just assume that the OT rate is 1.5 X hourly salary rate
(because there's no OT rate for my company)

Working days in February: 17 days
Public holidays: 2 days
Saturdays: 4 days
Sundays: 4 days

Assuming that I work every working day up until 12 am (though there are days when I only reach home at 2.30 am)..

Normal working days
Official working hrs: 8.30 am - 5.00 pm
Extra hrs: 5.00 pm - 12.00 am (7 hrs)
OT payable: 7 hrs X 1.5 X RM12 = RM126 per day X 17 days = RM2,142

Saturdays
Working hrs: 10 am - 10 pm (12 hrs)
OT payable: 12 hrs X 1.5 X RM12 = RM216 X 4 days = RM864

Sundays
Working hrs: 10 am - 10 pm (12 hrs)
OT payable: 12 hrs X 3 X RM12 = RM432 X 4 days = RM1,728

Public Holiday
Working hrs: 11 am - 5 pm (6 hrs)
OT payable: 6 hrs X 3 X RM12 = RM216 X 2 = RM432


Total OT payable for February = RM5,166
