Henna and The Bride-to-be...

My hands smell of henna leaves now... Had spent almost 2 hours attending to the bride-to-be during her "berinai" session..

It was fun to be with the girls.. It'll be one of the moments that will be cherished always.. Just like the time during Nai's berinai session in Penang last August. I can still remember it vividly.. How she sat during the whole "berinai" session, while me and Ejan "kerja-kan" her hands and legs clumsily.. *lol*.. (you are so lucky I don't have the pic with me..). Sorry laa girl.. we're mere amateur laa.. but luckily the inai turned out ok kan.. *winks*

Ejan's inai was beautifully drawn by her mak andam.. Lawa laa.. takde laa ala' indian sangat.. But all the fuss after that.. penat ooo.. One tip when wearing henna is that you have to constantly dab water (or in Ejan's case it was air teh'O pekat and lime water) on it so as to let the moisture to dampen the henna leaves. So, for the whole two hours I was constantly making sure that all part of her henna covered hand and legs were moist. While Nai, being a good mother figure, fed us dinner.. yummy.. makan bersuap.. *smile*

While Ejan was relaxed with the whole wedding preparation, her other half was getting all jittery about the whole thing. Doa qunut to hafal.. and etc... He was frantic... And after being forced by the queen, he reluctantly put some henna on 3 of his right fingers...

Groom: ala.. kena ke B?
Bride: kena laaaaa.... baru laaa nampak macam dah kawin..
Groom: tak payah laaa.. malu laaa
Bride: alaa.... buat laaaaaaaaaa.... tak lama nya lekat.. one week hilang laa
during the one hour after he put it on
Groom: B.. dah laa.. dah merah dah
Bride: hey.. baru jek letak.. tak kisah pakai gak
into the 2nd hour
Groom: cepat laaa bukak.. dah merah dah nieh
Me: hey.. once in a lifetime experience laaa.. cherish it
Groom: no way.. mana macho pakai2 inai nieh

So, Ejan.. here's a good start to a beautiful wedding.. I can't give you any advice for I still have yet to experience the whole thing.. But I can just share with you other people's thoughts on marriage.. read it here and here.

Here's to a beautiful marriage gurl....
