Confession of a Shopping-Deprived Workaholic

I've finally had my first dosage of retail therapy today, after constantly planning it since 2 weeks back.

Was suppose to go shopping yesterday, but was instead asked to spend an extra 3 hours in front of the PC after work to do some analysis and investigation (now that sounds like CSI plaks *lol*) by the boss... All that while she went off early for a massage session... Mana tak I muncung 2 inci semalam.. hehe..

Hence, today I've managed to finish up all the analysis and more queries that she gave me before the clock strikes 5 (wuhoo.. incrediBinx at work *winks*). No more pending work... However, I went to see the tax manager shortly after that and offerred a helping hand to assist her with the review of the pending tax computation filing (our company managed to get an extension until the 14th of the month). Why did I do that, when all I have been complaining about was having too much work and no free time? Well, the tax department is currently under-staffed and the manager is due to deliver her baby at the end of next week. Even though I know that I should be keeping quiet and just spend my leisure time surfing the net and blog hopping, I felt that I should at least help her out a little, if not a lot pun kan... Anyway, I told her I'll help her out as of tomorrow because today I'm going on a shopping spree........

A text message I received from e.j.a.n:-
"8 months tak shop?! Seriously girl? Ok.. go and shop til you drop ok.."

It was as if everything was trying to stop me from getting to my destination this evening. First, it the was a car blocking my car at the parking lot. I had to wait for almost 10 minutes for the Kakak that manage the car park to locate the car key and had to remove it out of the way myself ("Dik, tolong laa.. Akak tak gheti bawak kereta.."). Then, it took me 45 minutes to get from the parking lot to the Jln Pudu intersection, near Bukit Bintang area, which normally will take me around 10 minutes on a typical day. Suddenly the big cement truck decided to go back early today and all the busses in KL decided to take Jalan Bukit Bintang to get to their destinations.. Hmmmphh...

After I have finally squeezed my way through the busy street and got myself onto the Federal Highway, heading towards the mall, I thought things will now start to get better. Little did I realised that the road to the mall was under construction. My instinct told me that I was going to miss the turning. Hence, I simply drove on the left lane to ensure that that will not happen. Aha.. Midvalley City, 150m to the left.. Ok, I am NOT going to miss the turning.. I actually went on the correct lane only to miss another sharp and narrow turning to the left.. Demmit! Maybe God doesn't want me to spend all my hard-earned money today kut.. It's OK.. I can always do a Huge U-turn at the Universiti LRT stations junction, which I did. Yipeee..

Luckily I was able to secure a parking easily today (it was exactly next to the entrance - just in case I have to make 2 trips just to get the stuffs I've borong'ed back to the car). And off I went, roaming the floors of Mid Valley.

Things I noticed while shopping during the sale seasons:-

1) all the sizes for the cool pants or shirts you fancy are 10 and above.. ( I wear size 6) *hmmph*
2) the clothes on display are the only stocks available *hmmph*
3) items in (2) are either stained or have some kinda flaw on it *hmmph*
4) items that are discounted by 70% are mostly items in (1) *hmmph*
5) things that you like are mostly marked down by either 10% or 20% or a normal priced item *hmmph*
6) when you require an assistance to find a shoe with your size, the promoter is never around.. but when you just want to window shop, the promoter will actually follow you with a hawk-like stare until you leave the store.. *hmmph*

After spending 3 hours in the shopping mall, I came back bearing 4 bags. 4 bags only, you might ask? Well, ok laa tuh kan...

1) 2 Hush Puppies sandals (I likeeeeee...)
2) 4 Zara tops (1 baby blue boat-neck top, 1 dusty pink vee-neck knitted top, 1 purple baby-t, 1 maroon sleeveless top)
3) a HSBC reward I get for spending over a certain limit at the Mall
4) 1901 New York Chicken Hot Dog (for dinner)

Hmm.. after all that, I still don't feel complete. Hence, next mission: One Utama & The Curve...
