I have attended an old friend's wedding last Saturday at one of the renowned hotel in KL. It was really a grand wedding with all the detailed decors and settings.
Despite the small portion of food served (it was a 5-course fusion meal), we still thought that it was all fine and dandy. Until we stepped into the car park elevator....
There was 10 of us when we stepped into the elevator. Then it stopped at B1 and another person stepped in. And suddenly, halfway through to the other floor, B2, it suddenly paused and the alarm was triggered with the "overloaded" light blinking in red.
What the lar rite... Isn't the alarm suppose to be triggered before the door even closes? Plus, there was only 12 of us when the sign clearly stated that the maximum capacity was 13 pax with 900kg.
So, the man who was manning the buttons (whom I noted to be one of the VVIP guests from the same wedding) had pressed the intercom button to ask for help. Being a reputable hotel, I would have expected the person on the other side of the intercom to be more courteous and helpful. However, it took them forever to update us on the situation.
Being stuck in the elevator with 10 elderly people, whom are all VVIPs that addresses one another with their given titles and not names is very tiresome. Bukan tired apa... Penat dengar those datins and puan sris dok mengomel...
"I've frequented this hotel for almost 20 years dah tau.. tak penah pulak jadi macam nieh..."
*sigh*
So back to the story...
The help finally came after 20 minutes. The elevator was actually stuck in between B1 and B2. And when they pried open the elevator door, I was half expecting to see Officer Jack Traven to greet us with his dashing smile.. hahaha... NOT!
We had to wait for another 5-10 mins for them to fetch a ladder in order for us to climb down from the small opening. Habis mak datins and puan sris kena bukak kasut and crawl turun tangga youuu.... The best part was.. they were not that concern about getting down in one piece.. They were more concern about their shoes and handbags... *sigh*
There were grumbles from us lot about requesting for our parking tickets to be validated as a compensation. However, what can you expect from a lousy hotel service that could not even utter a single apology for the mishap? Nak cakap sorry pun susah... lagi mau bagi parking free.. Jangan nak berangan lar kan...
