The only thing that my lil' sis loves to do when she's in the kitchen is to bug us, especially me, while we were cooking. Try giving her a harder task than cooking the rice (which I still haven't mastered until today... hehehe), and she'll give all kinds of excuses to escape from the kitchen. Plus, her cooking skills are very limited that she is clueless about lots of things when it comes to preparing a meal.
However, after feeling guilty for something she had done earlier, she had volunteered to help me to clean all the prawns that we've just bought earlier. Mind you, this is a very "yek-yek" task that she normally would not have volunteered for.
Hence, she set out cleaning the 'taik udang' one by one, decked in a nice outfit - while waiting for her boyfriend to arrive for their date.
LS: Kenapa kena buang kepala udang nieh?
Me: Ye laa.. takkan nak makan taik dia kut.. yucks...
LS: Oh ye ke? Habis tuh kalau kat restoran tuh sume derang tak buang lar ek?
Me: I guess not lar kut...
LS: Eeeiii... panjang nya taik udang nieh.. macam ulat... yucks!!
Me: hhmmm... *malas nak layan*
LS: Eiiii... napa yg nieh merah??
Me: Where?
LS: Udang nieh period ke? (asking innocently)
Me: Huh? *tepuk dahi*

buang taik ikan bilis oso a yek yek task. so far havent found ikan bilis period lagik ;))

if u jumpa ikan bilis period, sila laporkan kepada pihak berkuasa ya..

next time beli la udang yg dah clean. i also dont like to handle fresh produce - ayam, daging, udang and esp ikan! i still dunno how to siang ikan... yek-yek...

i've mastered the siang ikan bit since last raya haji.. i was bullied into standing at the kitchen sink n siang ikan for 2 whole hours... mmg yek-yek habis..
