I take everything back... I'm still not happy...
I really wish that I'm back home now... lazying in front of the idiot box watching.. "Spongebob!"
"Spongebob Square Pants! Spongebob Square Pants! Spongebob Square Pants!"
Listen to the theme song here.
Look at the yellow goofy sink utensil... How could anyone not fall in love with him? Big wide eyes, goofy smile and funny laughs.. "Haaaa haaaaa haaaaa"....
Can't wait for the SSP the Movie to come out in M'sia...

Perhaps... Perhaps... Perhaps...
I've been feeling rather weird lately. One minute I feel so happy, that a silly joke pun can crack me up.. and another minute, even the slightest thing can piss me off.
Maybe I've been too caught up with work.. Wait a minute.. what work? I must admit that work is piling up.. but I don't think it had affected my mood in any way..
Maybe it's due to the fact that Ejan's wedding is around the corner and helping her out with all the preparations is really putting a weight on me.. Don't get me wrong.. It's not the work that I am complaining about (heck it... I love doing remeh-temeh stuffs nieh.. tying ribbons, decorating the souvenirs..). It's the thought that another girlfriend is getting married. That'll be 2 out of 3 girls. The pressure is up, hence I'm a bit tense about all the fuss that people around me have been creating. For example, tonight, Nai's aunt had kissed my cheeks after realising that I'm the only one out of the 3 left unmarried.. "Meh aunty cium sket kasi berkat.. tak lama dah nieh.. don't worry.." Don't worry aunty...I'm not worried.. Just a bit sad to see my girls all settling down.. Sharing stories about married life.. Going lingerie shopping together and all.. The next thing I know, they'll be comparing their tummy size (with tiny beings in it laa.. what.. you thought perut buncit ke?) and be planning the children's sleepover. And where will I be during these times? Possibly either working my ass off, or finally migrated to the UK (I wish!)..
Maybe because I'm kinda pissed with someone for spoiling my new year's eve... Well, I'm not pissed at you actually.. Just hate the fact that you'd do stupid things just to be seen as a "cool" guy.. More like the poyo'est of the poyo's to me.. (yes.. yes.. case close..)
or perhaps it's just the PMS kicking in...
Only God knows why.... (like the tune by Kid Rock)
So I think I'll keep on walkin'
with my head held up high
I'll keep movin' on and only God knows why
Only God, only God, only God knows why

Scarred for Life...
Through out my life, I've been known as an accident-prone girl.. Compared to my other siblings, I think I outdid both of them by being the daughter that brought back home the most scars and the one that constantly gets admitted to the hospital. What can I say, I constantly attracts sharp objects and rough edges to poke me in every possible way.
Today, I've added another mark to my fingers. I've accidentally slammed the car door on my rather-slow-and-inactive fingers. Auwwwch....! The impact was very hard and I thought that my "ranting kayu" fingers have snapped into tiny rantings. Luckily I had my 'Minyak Mestika' with me at that time.. (see Nai.. it does come in handy to carry it around with you.. ).
However, the bruised fingers are nothing compared to the scar on my right hand (exactly behind the palm). The scar has been with me since I was 5. Got it from the terrible fall I had during my first week in kindergarten. During that time, I was carrying a rather heavy bag (filled with toys that I took home from school - this is an entire different story that will be shared in the future) and was walking up the steep driveway towards class. Imagine a small kurus girl with a heavy bag on her back, walking almost 45 degrees to climb the great big hill and suddenly someone thought that it would be fun just to give her a little push. That little pushed had caused her to fall flat on her face and scratched her upper hand on the granite driveway.
I remembered seeing blood stains on my kindy dress and a glimpse of white bones underneath the cut flesh. Luckily my teacher, Cikgu Ruby, was there and took me to the school nurse. No bones were broken but the cut was so bad that it did not healed 100% and left me with a reminder of that terrible day. However, during that time I didn't mind the scar at all because it helps me to differentiate between my right hand and left hand (I was still confused at that time...). Every time nak makan, I'll compare both hands and and use the one with the scar on it to suap the rice. On the contrary, as I grew up, I became more conscious about the scar. Every person that noticed it will ask how I got it. It's quite embarrassing when you notice that someone is starring at your scarred hand, trying to analyse whether it is a birthmark, a scar, or a very bad skin rashes.
I have tried many products to get rid of it but to no avail. It is now hardly visible, unless you get a close look at it. However, the mark is still there. I guess I just have to face the fact that I am scarred for life...

The Trainee, Part 2
One of the most unforgettable stint during our 3 months training programme was the visit to Teluk Sengat Estate, Johor Lama. It was a real eye-opening trip for us, especially for me, C, E and G. It was a normal thing for A cause he had once lived on an estate when he was growing up.
When we first got there, we were taken straight to the Estate Manager's bungalow, which were situated on the highest area in the entire estate. Mr. Koddy (a.k.a the drunken master) greeted us very "happily". It was only 4 p.m. and he's already tipsy. He kept asking us our names and where we come from. "What's your name? Where are you from? Oh.. I've been there before...".. (long pause...) "What's your name? Where are you from?".... I guess from all the empty liquor bottles on the table, he must be really, really drunk by that time and would not remember a single thing.. All he know was.." I am Koddy, K.O.D.D.Y.. And I'm the manager of this estate!". He should have added "and I drink 24 hrs a day"..
Imagine our shocked when he wanted to drive us back to the place we were suppose to stay for the week.. In that condition? No way was I gonna ride with him. Luckily his jeep was too small to accommodate all 5 of us.. So, we went with the driver in the Trooper instead. However, we saw The Drunken Master speed faster than the speeding bullet in front of us.. and we were afraid to wonder what it'll be like riding in the jeep with him...
It was really fun being the Trainees from the holding company. Everybody were suppose to treat us well so that we would not complaint about the trip to the top people back home. Hence, it explains why we were asked to bunk at the nearest resthouse (which we found out on our last day, were built on a cemetery) instead of roughing it at the workers' quarters on the estate itself. E was so relieved to find out that we don't have to stay on the estate. She was worried sick about the whole trip ever since that we found out about the trip.
Before we settled down, Mr. Koddy had asked us to list down our menu for the entire week. Hahaha.. We were stunt by the request, for we didn't know what was actually in store for us. And being the typical city bitches that we were, most of the items in our menus were the typical things that we eat everyday (in Kay El...). I can vaguely remember some of the menus...
B'fast
-Fried eggs - sunny side up (yeah, we actually wrote this!)
-Hot dogs
-Baked beans
Lunch
-Ayam masak merah
-Sup sayur
-Telur bungkus
Dinner
-Burger
Ok.. the menu may seem normal to you.. but not to the Teluk Sengat people... Kesian makcik restoran tuh duk garu kepala trying to figure out apa kebenda laa sunny side up tuh.. hehehe.. And the best part was, she tried her best to fulfill our lists, even though her son had to travel to the nearest town to get the hot dogs and burgers for us (my god.. we were really ignorant jerks). Hey, don't blame us.. cause when we asked them what type of food are we suppose to list down, all Koddy said was.. anything under the sky... so apa lagi.. tulis aje laa apa yang terasa nak makan.
Since there was no proper dining hall on the estate, we took our meals at a local warung near the resthouse. The place was actually very cool... It is next to the Selat Teberau (the Straits that divides Malaysia and Singapore) and you can actually see Singapore on the opposite side of the ocean. The warung, when we first arrived, was dead.. The only people we saw dining there are a few pakciks. However, after the news of the 5 out-of-towners arrivals had spread, the makcik's warung were filled out by lots of jakun people, who watch your every move, and listen to every word you say. These jakun mamats were all gawking at G (the cute one in the whole bunch) and really irritates the hell out of us all.. Nak makan pun tak senang.. Plus we were laughed at when we had to wait for our burgers from town.
The entire trip was filled with briefing on the entire operation the estate. We were brief on every aspect of running an oil palm plantation, from the very beginning stage of selecting the best baby oil palm and nurturing it at the nursery to the site preparation to the harvest stage and also the oil processing stage. It was very lengthy yet interesting lecture for you get to see the real thing and not just a chart explaining to you the entire process. However, everyone, especially E, were really having a rough time in the hot weather and all the mosquitos around.
We had to wake up at 5 every morning to witness the morning roll call at the estate office. This is the time when all the estate workers assembles to receive their duties for the day. And what a sad sight it was.. Most of the workers are old makciks and pakciks, just like our grandma and grandpa, trying to earn their keep. I had the chance to talk to one makcik and she told me that her salary is just a few hundred per month. That is like 1/10th of what I was earning and still I was complaining bout how little the company was paying us.
I guess the HR people were smart to sent us there. At least now we know that there are other people that are worse than us and are working very hard just to earn a few ringgit per day. Really kais pagi makan pagi, kais petang makan petang kind of situation. Hence, when we take our positions in the corporate world, we would actually take these people's interest into consideration before we make any drastic decisions. In that sense, the experience had turned us all into a better person (I surely hope so).

The Trainee, Part 1
2nd Jan 2003
The date I had embarked on my journey into the working world.
I was accepted as a Management Trainee in one of the big conglomerate company in KL. There were 4 others in the group, but I was the only local grad in the group. Imagine how I felt at that time, being the black sheep in the herd. It was even worse when we had to introduce ourselves to the GMs or Managers we met.
Trainee A: "Hi, my name is A, and I graduated from the University of Auckland, New Zealand"
GM: "Ah... I just love Auckland. I've been there a few times with my wife..."
Trainee C: "Hi, my name is C, and I graduated from Melbourne Uni"
GM: "Melbourne.. My daughter is there.."
Trainee E: "Hey I'm E, and I just graduated from San Francisco State Uni (SFSU)"
GM: "Did you attend any of the gay parades.. hehehe.."
Trainee G: "My name's G and I graduated from Helsinki School of Business, Finland"
GM: "Ah.. Finland.. a very clean country..."
Me: "Hey I'm binx and I graduated from University Tenaga Nasional"
GM: "Oh where is that? I didn't know that Tenaga has its own university."
Me: .$%^&*@#!%...............
As a trainee, we had to go through a 3 months familiarisation cum training period where we were sent to various subsidiaries to learn the ropes and understand their operations. It was a very long 3 months where we went from one company to another that operates in totally different industries all together (from the travel sector, we went to shipping, plantation, manufacturing, trading, and finally education sector). And during these period is when all the 5 of us really got to know each other well.
A is the only male in the group. He's the eldest among us and I guess is the leader of the pack. You can always count on him to be on time. Or should I say, ahead of time. Even on the 1st day of work, he's the first one to arrive, ahead of everyone else at 7.30 a.m.! (A.. you memang gila kuasa....). Oh yeah.. he's my birthday mate too.. Cool eh..
C's the funniest in the group. She actually lives on the same street as I am.. So, we decided to car-pull every morning. And I really pity her for what she has to put up with..(me being the late riser and all). Sometimes she can even catch a few winks in the car while waiting for me to get ready (thanks so much dear.. love ya for that *winks*). At work, she's famous for her blank looks and ingenious answers during the HR pre-training quizzes.
NVOCC (Non-Vessel Operating Carrier something - i can't remember) = C's very creative answer would be - "Not Very OK Cause Confuse"
FFA (a term use in the oil-palm plantation lingo) = C's answer was - "Fresh Fruit Always"
Even the all-time-time-straight-face HR exec burst into laughter after reading her answers. Yeah, you really crack us up with your innocent jokes girl.
E, she's a great girl. A very innocent-makcik2 like-party girl. She's famous for the "W" sign and the "Whatever!" remark. She's the walking reminder in the group, constantly reminding us of the tasks that we have to complete. She even planned what we have to pack for our trip to an estate before hand. "Ok I think 2 pairs of socks should be enough, or maybe we should be 3 just in case.. what do u guys think?" Such a worry ward she is.. hehehe.. But, E, the group would never be the same without your million dollar remarks that never cease to make us laugh all the time.
G's the bitch in the group (and I mean this in a very good way). She's one cool babe, even when she's in her bitchy mood. After I met her, I really appreciate the true meaning of the famous saying "kecil-kecil cili api", cause she may be small in size, but her energy, spirit and guts are bigger than life. One thing about G that I will always remember - her hyena laugh... my goodness... terkejut beruk I when I heard her laugh for the 1st time... *lol*
The memories I had with all of you will always be cherished. Sometimes it'll crack me up just to remember those funny moments.. (maybe I'll blog about it later). Thanks for everything ya.. *hugs*

3rd Jan 2005
Tomorrow, I will begin my 3rd year with the Company. Hope the new year will bring great things for me (career wise). I hope not to be stuck doing tax for long. I do pray that "Uncle Dan" will give me a chance to show my true potential in other areas or perhaps in other subsidiaries.. And I also pray that "Lady Cobra" will not finally come to her senses and issue me an employment misconduct notice for my tardiness (hey, I always stay back to make up for my lateness)...
