This years love had better last
Heaven knows it's high time
And I've been waiting on my own too long
But when you hold me like you do
It feels so right
I start to forget
How my heart gets torn
When that hurt gets thrown
Feeling like you can't go on
Turning circles when time again
It cuts like a knife oh yeah
If you love me got to know for sure
Cause it takes something more this time
Than sweet sweet lies
Before I open up my arms and fall
Losing all control
Every dream inside my soul
And when you kiss me
On that midnight street
Sweep me off my feet
Singing ain't this life so sweet
This years love had better last
This years love had better last
Cause whose to worry
If our hearts get torn
When that hurt gets thrown
Don't you know this life goes on
And won't you kiss me
On that midnight street
Sweep me off my feet
Singing ain't this life so sweet
This years love had better last
(repeat til end)

Artist: David Gray
Album: White Ladder
I love this song... It illustrates how it is very hard for someone who was hurt before to open up to love once again. And the way David Gray sang it gives it an added emotion and it really touches the soul of the person who listens to it.
I am not condemning the 'happily ever after' concept. However, after going through a rough 8 years growing up in a broken family and also reading through the news of the growing number of divorce rates, I can't help to wonder if love is an absolute thing that a person should risk his/her life for?

there really is no happily ever after concept. happiness is a choice for individuals to make. even if two people separate, but it brings more happiness to them, then it is still happiness. there's no point living life if you don't dare to take such beautiful risks. if it fails, move on and start anew. there's no point in you looking back at what you went through and start looking at the present & future. you wouldn't want to be living by yourself forever. that's like going against the gift from god.
good luck dear for ur exam.
my exams oso next week.aiyah.
i'm a skeptic who want so bad to believe in 'happily ever after'.

I believe 'happily ever after' is something you make effort to achieve. doesn't come easily, but it's there. :)

There isn't such a concept as happily-ever-after. There is, though, euphoria-for-the-first-three-months-then-
it's-back-to-all-reality concept. Hehe.
So many people have told me that happiness is something that we must work at, and we earn, and we toil for. Sounds hard, but then good things don't come easy, yes?
And for all its warts and farts, I'd say yes...risk what you have for love.
It's worth it :) Take care!
