Hmmm.... been doing the translation for the Group's annual report. My goodness, I didn't expect it to be this hard. I mean, I can say that my B.Melayu is ok laaa.. takde laa terror sgt... BUT I was having problem in translating those business/financial jargons..

When I first saw the term "Surplus on member's voluntary liquidation of Subsidiaries".. I freaked out.... aaarrrrggghhh... What have I gotten myself into...?

Started to panicked. Called the Group Admin dept., where there's a small library for the staffs, to ask for business (english-malay) dictionary.. But all they have is the Fajar Bakti's English-Malay Dictionary.. Haiyaaa... hampeh btul.. Tuh dictionary people use during primary or secondary school.. Tak corporate langsung. However, I still went up to get it.. Who knows kan.. maybe berguna laa jugak.

Got back to my place, with a renewed feeling of enthusiasm. Try looking up "Liquidation".. ziltch.. tarak... arrggghhh... penat.. penat.. But it didn't deter my spirit.

Went next door to the Group HR dept. and borrowed a thicker dictionary. This one nampak laa convincing sikit. The Dewan Bahasa's English-Malay Kamus Dewan. Still tak menolong jugak hamba yang lemah ini... Oh tidak... kenapa Kau uji ku sebegini rupa....?

Finally, after realising that I was in agony, the accountant suggested that I give the CEO's secretary a call to ask for a special jargon/technical English-Malay Dictionary. Haiya.. now baru nak cakap laa kan... Hence, for the 1st time I went up to the highest floor in the building, in search for the much needed "bible"..

Thus, now, with the "bible" in front of me... people can throw at me any business/financial jargons and I can translate it to a Malay word in a jiffy...

Hmmm... wanna give it a try? *winks*

Binx: serabut... serabut....
