I don't want to sleep alone

That was the title of the movie we saw last night.

I know that I am suppose to be concentrating on my studies rite about now. However, a lil' distraction helps to reduce the weariness of having to stare at the same question all night long. *winks*

So I thought.

Since we have exhausted almost 3/4 of the movie list shown at the Cineleisure, Mr Judge decided that we should try out the new movie of the above-mentioned title. From the look of the poster, we can't tell what genre it is and which country it originated from. Tibai sajalah... This is not something new for us, to main tibai aje tengok all the foreign movies.. Konon 'cultured' sangat la kan...

And so we entered the 'International Screening Room'. For those of you that are familiar with Cineleisure's movie hall's layout, that's Hall 3 - where all the foreign films are being screened.

The moment we settled down in our seats, both of us had a feeling that that was going to be the weirdest movie that we have watched so far. Why? Because bit by bit the crowd started to build up. And by crowd I mean couples that mainly consists of two males. Hmmm.... Agak pelik kan...

The movie was really.. errmm.. how shall I put it... ermmm... different. It shows the life of people in KL (yeah, it's a Malaysian movie) that we never bothered to know about. It doesn't have much dialogs, since the focus of the movie is more on the underlying expressions of the actors. The director had directed the movie in such a way that leaves the audience to freely interpret the storyline themselves. And he also uses the background music as the narrator for the movie.

My take on the movie? It is a weird movie as a whole. Maybe it's because I don't really know how to appreciate artistic values that are the main underlying element of the movie. What I can interpret is that the story revolves around one big old stinky used mattress that was being dragged all around KL throughout the movie. However, I did noticed the excellent cinematography that had helped to give an interesting element to the ever so mundane movie.

So what's the deal with all the male couples? Well, maybe because there are some bisexual bits and pieces in the movie. Yucks...! Want to know more? You have to go watch it for yourself... hahaha...

Both of us walked out of the cinema dazed, confused and tired. Our minds were numbed from trying to digest the whole movie and trying to figure out the purpose of each characters. Penat ok... penat...

That was the longest 2 hours ever!

However, the movie critics disagree with me. Read their comments about the movie here.

binx: i still sleep alone...

12.30 p.m.

It's Wednesday. It's my off day (no classes for the day).

However, unlike any other Wednesdays, I have managed to settle tons of things before lunch.

What have I done so far?

- Called the Insurance company to arrange for my car's policy to be renewed (everything is settled and paid for.. Now I just have to wait for them to send me the new road tax)

- Called the new company to arrange for the date for me to pick up the offer letter for the new job

- Called to secure another part-time teaching gig (I might be teaching accounting this time around.. rosak lar budak2 tuh nanti... hehehe...)

- Cooked lunch for Mom (well.. just the rice actually)

- Consult a friend on Group Consolidation (I can't believe that I can still recall all the technical stuffs on consol... wohoo...!)

That's a lot for someone who usually laze in bed till late afternoon on a typical Wednesday.

Now I'm off to hit the books. After getting an encouraging result for my mock exam, I am so determined to put a closure for this up coming exam. Dah tak larat dah duk repeat the same thing over and over again.

How's your day thus far?

How old are YOU? (Part II)

Scene 1

I was training the new girl that was going to take-over my position at the Centre last Thursday. And as always, the conversation leads to the age subject.

Girl: How long have you been working here?
Me: I've been here for the past 5 months.
Girl: I see... You baru graduate ke?
Me: Ermmm... Not exactly...
Girl: Then?
Me: Well, I've been working else where for the past 3 years... yada yada yada...
Girl: Oh oook... How old are you actually?
Me: How old do you think I am?
Girl: At least a year younger than me...
Me: How old are you?
Girl: I'm 23...
Me: *big grin* alright... Well... nope, I'm not 22...
Girl: Really?
Me: Yups.. I'm 28 actually...
Girl: Wow.. You seriously don't look 28...
Me: *really HUGE grin*

Scene 2

A conversation with one of my favourite student last Friday...

Student: Teacher.. how old are you? (referring to the new girl)
New girl: I'm 23...
Student: And you? (asking me)
Me: How old do you think I am?
Student: Well, you are definitely younger than the other teacher...
Me: hahahaha... oh yeah?
Student: Betul laa kan? You're 21 kan?
Me: hahahaha... wow.. I look that young eh?
Student: Bukan ke? then 19?
Me: *geleng kepala*
Student: 18?
Me: *rotflol* nope... Alaaa I takde chocolate nak bagi you lar...
Me: I'm wayyyy older than that lar, my dear...
Student: How old are you, then?
Me: I'm 28 this year...
Student: *ternganga*
Me: Kenapa? Tak percaya ka?
Student: Serious teacher tipu...
Me: Nah.. tengok my I/C...
Student: Oh my god... oook...

*ahem* *ahem*

Maybe I don't look my age because I don't dress my age. I'm always in my jeans and t-shirts plus little or no make-up.

Hmmm.. Is that good or bad?

binx: awet muda... :D

Of being selfish...

Scenario 1

I've put in extra hours at the Centre since the owner had promised me an increase in salary for last month. Furthermore, she needed my help (with pictures and slides and what not) in order to prepare for the up-coming Centre Visit at the end of this month. However, at the end of the day, I still get the same pay as usual (which is very ciput) plus a cold-shoulder from her. All because I told her that I will be leaving the Centre at the end of this month.

All my effort, manning the fort alone for the whole of last month was for nothing. I mean, yeah of course I did it dengan ikhlas hati, but a little appreciation would help to reduce the stress level. Luckily the kids' antics never cease to bore me. If not memang dah lama dah I angkat kaki.

My selfish act: I told her that my last day would be in the middle of the month, before my exam, instead of at the end of the month. I couldn't care less about the Centre Visit anymore. Not if she keeps on giving me the cold shoulder and low pay. So now I have 2 weeks to relax and maybe take a short trip somewhere before I start with my new venture.

Scenario 2

An old school mate-turned-diva is getting married this weekend and apparently I was invited. I was surprised that I got an invite since I was not even close to her during the 3 years while I was in that school. However, imagine my shocked when I received my invitation card along with a stack of empty invites (ada lar around 15 kut to be addressed by ME) to be circulated to people. Plus, there were 2 invitations for 2 teachers from the school!! What THE lar rite...

I mean, firstly, we are not even close to begin with, so why me? Secondly, to my knowledge, her dad has a driver that can actually drive around and deliver the invites. Thirdly, she still has siblings that goes to that school... So again I ask, WHY ME?

The friend that passed me the stack of invites (no she didn't passed it to me herself) had SMS'ed her telling her to call me for further instructions. However, I still haven't heard anything from her up till now. I am so NOT going to call her to ask for instructions because I am not her slave. If she wants my help, she's suppose to call lar rite?

My selfish act: Just leave the stack of invites on the dining table. Am thinking of putting it in one big envelope and dropping it into her postbox soon. However, since she had addressed the 2 cards to the teachers, I take it as an amanah to make sure they get it.

--------------------

Usually I would just do whatever that people ask me to do. Selagi boleh buat or tolong, I will do it. However, I think I've been too nice that people dah start nak pijak my head. I can't take it anymore. Hence, now I think it's time for me to be selfish...!

Shopping, movies and a decision to make...

Don't you just love it when you finally can break free and just shop, shop, shop... Well, I wasn't on a shopping spree expedition, however, I've finally made a few purchase after months of refraining myself from shopping. The 4 hours trip to Petaling Street was the highlight of it all... And it was greaaaat!

Caught Sipdey 3 last night. It was alright. However, I just wished that Spidey could've been more manly and not cry in every scene of the movie.. Boo-hoo... That's just not a superhero quality lar, dude... Now I'd have to wait 20 more days before I can finally watch Sumo-Lah and POTC 3... For now, I have to divert my attention from the screens to the books. :(

I didn't know that I can enjoy one person's company so much that spending time just playing UNO with the person can become the highlight of the day. Oh well, I guess that's just how it is when you've caught the bug... Just sit and do nothing pun can be great with the right person next to you, right?

If you were given a choice between money and perks, which criteria would you choose? I am soooo torn rite now...

binx: tummy ache :(
