That was the title of the movie we saw last night.
I know that I am suppose to be concentrating on my studies rite about now. However, a lil' distraction helps to reduce the weariness of having to stare at the same question all night long. *winks*
So I thought.
Since we have exhausted almost 3/4 of the movie list shown at the Cineleisure, Mr Judge decided that we should try out the new movie of the above-mentioned title. From the look of the poster, we can't tell what genre it is and which country it originated from. Tibai sajalah... This is not something new for us, to main tibai aje tengok all the foreign movies.. Konon 'cultured' sangat la kan...
And so we entered the 'International Screening Room'. For those of you that are familiar with Cineleisure's movie hall's layout, that's Hall 3 - where all the foreign films are being screened.
The moment we settled down in our seats, both of us had a feeling that that was going to be the weirdest movie that we have watched so far. Why? Because bit by bit the crowd started to build up. And by crowd I mean couples that mainly consists of two males. Hmmm.... Agak pelik kan...
The movie was really.. errmm.. how shall I put it... ermmm... different. It shows the life of people in KL (yeah, it's a Malaysian movie) that we never bothered to know about. It doesn't have much dialogs, since the focus of the movie is more on the underlying expressions of the actors. The director had directed the movie in such a way that leaves the audience to freely interpret the storyline themselves. And he also uses the background music as the narrator for the movie.
My take on the movie? It is a weird movie as a whole. Maybe it's because I don't really know how to appreciate artistic values that are the main underlying element of the movie. What I can interpret is that the story revolves around one big old stinky used mattress that was being dragged all around KL throughout the movie. However, I did noticed the excellent cinematography that had helped to give an interesting element to the ever so mundane movie.
So what's the deal with all the male couples? Well, maybe because there are some bisexual bits and pieces in the movie. Yucks...! Want to know more? You have to go watch it for yourself... hahaha...
Both of us walked out of the cinema dazed, confused and tired. Our minds were numbed from trying to digest the whole movie and trying to figure out the purpose of each characters. Penat ok... penat...
That was the longest 2 hours ever!
However, the movie critics disagree with me. Read their comments about the movie here.
binx: i still sleep alone...
