Simple gesture goes a long way

When you know that you haven't been spending a lot of time with your family, just take an extra effort to prepare lunch or dinner for them every once in a while without being asked/forced to do so. I bet they would appreciate the gesture. I know my mom did...

During my almost 4 months teaching stint, I found out that by asking the students about their daily activities and school grades, they tend to open up to me even more. Now, they will look forward to tell me about their latest accomplishments in school, i.e. "Teacher.. Teacher.. Did you know that I got the highest English mark in my class? And I managed to get the no. 4 ranking for the last exam!" And like a proud parent (hahaha...) I would congratulate them and make sure to boost their spirit to score higher marks for the next exam. Apart from that, some even confided in me about their problems in school (ada yang ponteng sekolah for almost a month just cause he was afraid of the school teacher...). In my opinion, you can make a difference by just listening to them and encouraging them to push forward. And if you are lucky, like me, they'll bring you yummy candies every time they come for lessons *winks*.

Sometimes, highlighting something that is available is way better rather than emphasizing something that is not there. E.g. when someone put an extra effort to look good, just pay that person a compliment. That will definitely make his/her day. I've tried that a couple of times and it had put the person in a good mood and smiled the whole day long. Isn't that great?

Now, have a good day people...! Don't forget to smile ya...

Sunburned...

Make that half-burned... Yups.. My face is now half-burned, from the nose tip downwards... My cheeks and nose are red. I now look like Rudolph, the red nose reindeer..

Apart from that, last weekend was great!

Went to the career fair @ Mid Valley on Saturday just to catch a glimpse of what I can do to change my current situation. However, since the turn up was huge, going through the booths felt like trying to squeeze out from a cramp tin of sardines. After submitting my resumes at a couple of booths and collecting as much pamphlets that I can get my hands on, I left the fair for a much cooler and exciting retreat - The Curve! :D

Sunday was the F1 big day... Finally got to watch the race live at the circuit. Despite being dragged out of bed bright and early, we still managed to have fun. There were lots of people watching, cuci mata opportunities (*drools* hahaha...), and cool photography moments amongst others. Thank god for the great company and the beautiful weather. I came back with a half-burned face, full tummy and a smile on my face.

It's Friday...! It's Friday...!

It has been a great week thus far.

Went to visit the ex-colleagues last Wednesday. It has been almost a year since I left the Company and there I was returning for the very first time. My homecoming (yeah rite) was greeted with glee by everyone, including the Beast! Apparently everyone has been wondering how I was doing since I didn't bother to really update them with my stories. Seeing their excited faces made me feel as if I was still a part of the team (maybe not work wise, but a part of their lives lar). It felt great to be remembered that way...

A lot has been achieved in other areas too. I've managed to boost my confidence to face another round of examination. Yeah people, I didn't get through the exam (again..!) the last time around - by mere 4 points!!! It was so devastating that I felt so shitty and hopeless for not being able to put a closure on that one final paper. However, I think I am prepared to end it once and for all this coming May. Just need to practice, practice practice... hehehe...

Anyway, hope you guys had a great week too! And a great weekend ahead. I will definitely have a great one cause I'll be going to Sepang!!!

Yeah Hillstand aje lar.. Can't afford the Grandstand tix...

I've caught the bug...

Yeah.. I definitely have...

How?
I'm not sure how... I'll have to get back to you on that...

When?
It has been a very slow process since early this year...

Side effects?
Just the constant giddy and angau feeling - sun shinning, birds chirping kinda thing...

Treatment?
A one-on-one meeting... Phone conversations help to reduce the pain as well.

Is it curable?
Maybe... but I don't think I want it cured... *winks*
